With the elite teams shifting emphasis to a more balanced or even run heavy offense Bolton is absolutely justifiable.

The only reason Trey Smith isn't getting raked over the coals for his 2024 performance is the LT debacle. Any given Sunday he was more likely than not the second worst OL on the field and may have been a few where he actually was the worst. An absolutely brutal body of work for 2024 and I really hope they let him walk.

Pat is a big portion of the issue.

They're not mutually exclusive. You can point the finger and criticize Pat all you want, and a lot of it is warranted, but also acknowledge that putting a revolving door of 4 different LTs in front of him has significantly affected him.

Bolton is also a young cat, much like Worthy is now.

He's only going to be 25 this year.

Of course they are, both of those teams already had established quality left tackles on the roster.

Taylor Decker was the 16th overall pick. We ain't picking 16th. Or 7th, where they took Sewell.

Bc the talent has been ****ing terrible the last 2 years. Again…

Justin Watson WR1 by snap count, 5 LT’s, shit running game. Least explosive RB room in the league this year.

Yeah I don’t want to hear the talent excuse. It’s the reason Patrick is getting mentally ****ed up

All the more reason not to go for broke on a LT. They have a ton of holes. Just be prudent. That's all I ask.

The running game absolutely does need to be addressed. Not a coincidence that most of the top offenses this year had them.

pugsnotdrugs19 02-13-2025 10:40 AM

I think RB quality could be especially helpful for us too because we are never going to be a dominant run blocking team. Never have been under Andy, never will. The scheme doesn't invite it.

So having a back who can make yards on their own... that's your best shot at a top-15 ground game.

Sassy Squatch 02-13-2025 10:41 AM

Top offenses in PPG were as followed.

Detroit
Buffalo
Baltimore
Tampa Bay
Philadelphia

All of them had at the very least a credible running game and 3 out of the 5 lean very heavily on it.

htismaqe 02-13-2025 10:44 AM

They averaged less than 1 run of 10+ yards PER GAME. 17 runs of 10 yards or longer in an entire season and they played in the Super Bowl. That just can't happen.

Everybody wants to bitch about Andy not committing to the run, well here's the answer - get a back that can break one. Make every run count.

I used to post this a lot back in the day but Kareem Hunt had only 3 games his rookie season where he had more than 20 carries IIRC. He had at least 3 where he had LESS than 10 carries, again if memory serves.

He led the league. It's all about efficiency and getting the most out of every opportunity.

New World Order 02-13-2025 10:46 AM

Offensive line and running back are the focuses this year.

Get some protection for Pat and when Rice returns, our offense will look like it used to in years past.

I'd like to get JK Dobbins on a vet minimum deal and then draft a good one possibly in the third.

Chiefs longest run of the season being only 34 yards should be on Veach’s mind this offseason.

I don't understand the decision to not run the ball before the game even started. It's like KC planned a one dimensional attack and were out of ammo when it didn't work.
