Reminds me of the Pronger situation probably 15 years ago. Puck to the chest, hit the wrong spot, created an arrhythmia and put him into cardiac arrest. My memory is they zapped him on the ice to revive him but he made a full recovery and had a hall of fame career.

Dutch futbol player had a similar incident in the last two years. Revealed a congenital defect. Recovered.

No way. If he has a pulse, he is not dead. He can be mechanically ventilated indefinitely. A high cervical spine injury can paralyze the diaphragm making it impossible to breath spontaneously. Either way, not good.

May actually have been medically induced.

If he's been intubated for some reason he's not going to be 'breathing on his own'.

So it could be a bit of a misunderstanding.

But yeah, my first thought was traumatic brain injury by either the impact of the fall or potential lack of blood to the brain due to the heart issue.

If he was on oxygen he wasn’t intubated I don’t think.

It ain’t good that’s for sure but it depends on the root cause.

Could he already have brain damage though?

Practically speaking, it is probably impossible to delay beyond tomorrow. At least that would give players some time to re-center.

I agree.

if he did die, they'll probably play tomorrow & no later

True. I don’t care about the score btw. I just wondered.

I’m an atheist so I don’t pray. But my goodness I hope that young man is okay. If it was a chiefs player I’d be crying

I think a tie is good for us, we would be the 1 seed and control our destiny vs the Raiders right?

It could be a weird way of describing it, from a lay person that doesn’t understand the difference.

May have been intubated, and now is “on oxygen “being bagged

BleedingRed 01-02-2023 08:38 PM

They would have to forfeit I’d assume.

Prayers for the young man, but I just think the implications of this game a betting markets is going to cause chaos for the NFL.

Just pull the plug on the game. These two teams are only playing 16 games this year

That’s where my mind went immediately. Over the Edge 1999 at Kemper.

WW(F) took all sorts of shit for continuing the show. And that’s a scripted event that much more easily could’ve been postponed or canceled.

Hopefully Goodell isn't as big of a prick as Vince McMahon. I remember watching that PPV live and Jim Ross telling everyone Hart had died.
