The kenpom Luck stat is interesting.

Providence is #1 and it was pretty ****ing obvious they weren't a 4 seed.

Wisconsin is the next notable team at #15 and they lost to 11 seed ISU in the round of 32.

Miami is the next notable team at #27, followed by Creighton at #28, followed by .....UNC at #29. Villanova was #58.

Arizona is the notable top team inside the top 100 at 75. Kansas is 104.

UNC, like Nova, has practically no bench. That’s a big advantage for us, especially with UNC coming off an emotional win 2 days later.

As Barkley gets into talking on TBS about how they haven't talked about KU nearly enough and how they should get a lot more credit, TBS shifts to Coach K being driven away in a cart in the bowels of the arena. Classic. LMAO

I thought North Carolina was clearly better than an 8 seed. Kind of like that year Kentucky was an 8 seed. Wichita St was the 1 seed in that region that year. What a shitty draw for them lol.

Yeah, if it wasn't for Pittsburgh, UNC doesn't have any terrible losses (11 seed VTech and 10 seed Miami aren't great)... and if it wasn't for Pitt, it would have been 14 wins in 15 games, with the loss being versus Duke.

Kenpom actually has them in the 4-5 seed range.

They were #30 in KenPom at the time the tournament has started. They've made the biggest jump of anybody, have played high level basketball at both ends since game 1.

Please. The only reason UNC got into the tournament was because they beat Duke at Duke.

They suck. They know how to beat one team. They lack quality wins and HAD a bad resume. The predictive metrics did have them as better than a #8 seed but they probably deserved a 10 based on their actual accomplishments. Regardless they arent even as good a Villanova and UNC likes to run.

KU is going to ****ing murder them. No team with high tempos have given KU any problems whatsoever this year.

Exactly. They have great guard play and athletic all around. You don’t beat a team like Duke who has the top draft pick and 2 others in the top 15 without being really, really good. KU will have their hands full on Monday. They should close it out, but won’t be easy.

What a season for this team. Time to put the last piece of the puzzle together.

UNC is a team loaded with talent and a new coach to get used to and they struggled to start the season.

They have been playing extremely well. Of course they don't beat Baylor if the refs call a blatantly egregious foul at the end of regulation in that game.

Still, I wasn't overly impressed with UNC or Duke last night.

I picked South Dakota State but I should have known better. Those popular upset picks rarely pull it off.

It was a hell of a party in Cincinnati last night.

As much as I hate to agree with KCCC, NC hasn't looked like a #8 seed since they beat Duke and spoiled Coach K's last game. They are playing their best BB. Way above what they were playing just a few weeks ago. That said, so are we.

Since the 2nd half of Miami, we have looked like a juggernaut that could beat any team in our way. I think our defense is going to bother NC, create turnovers and frustration. First year coach. Coming off emotional wins over the arch rival. Getting to the championship game. That's a helluva year. They should feel satisfied.

Its been awhile since we won a championship. We got that hunger. We should win comfortably.

Man I had fun last night. Neighborhood watch party was great and I'm running on about 5 hours sleep. What a run, what an impressive game from Dave in particular. But really such a smothering team win, just a no doubter and then to get to watch Coach K slither into the sewer after. Just beautiful.

It kinda goes without saying that UNC is playing higher than their seed. It would be impossible to make it to the title game without that being true.

I really wonder about Bacot’s ankle. That looked pretty nasty. I’m sure he’ll play, but how will he feel? Is he 90%? 80%? Just like we need to play well, UNC will need to play well too. Any injury really hurts them. Like Nova, they have no bench.

Wilson vs Manek will be a good matchup to watch. Manek got bullied by Banchero several times. Obviously, Wilson isn’t that guy but should be able to drive on him effectively.

Kenpom says we’ve played the best defenses of anyone. If our shots are falling, we should be able to put up 80. Will be interesting to see if our defense frustrates UNC.

UNC is 39th in Kenpom for Adjusted D. Oklahoma, Villanova, Creighton, TCU, Texas, Baylor, Iowa State, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech (and KU) all rate higher. All teams KU has beaten, some of them when KU wasn't playing as well as they are right now offensively.

Let's take an optimistic approach rather than the doom and gloom on this one. It's a great opportunity and KU is the favorite, let's bask in that until gametime.
