Loved the first one. Loved the second one. But for the love of god, please put this series out of it's misery. It's been soooo bad since the alien impregnated a dog.

The subtitles were the same Jamaican slang they were speaking, so you'd end up with subtitles like "Ja Mon, I and I fi gon down ta store." :spock: But the story was cool, and it was well done other than the difficulty understanding the dialect.

Meh a tell yah seh yah haffi listen close, but yuh cyaan mek it out.

It’s basically just broken English in the movie. Real Jamaican patwah is a bit harder, but I think they made it more understandable for the audience. I’ve been hearing it almost my whole life, and I can understand it and speak it fairly well.

If you listen to a lot of dancehall music (which I doubt you do) you’ll get a better feel for it. To me it’s super hot.

The kid took me to go see The Fall Guy for Father's Day. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Completely over the top and ridiculous, and I loved it all.

PunkinDrublic 06-28-2024 12:14 PM

Really wanted “The Bikeriders” to be good but was super disappointed. The visuals and aesthetics of the biker culture were good but don’t go in expecting “Sons of Anarchy”. Really should’ve been called “Bikers talk about their feelings “.

I watched it and for probably the first half of the movie I wasn't really all that into it, but holy shit it picks up in the last half. Damn good movie.

ChiliConCarnage 06-29-2024 05:03 PM

Not super new but watched the movie Blackberry. It's on Hulu

Pretty good story. Neat looking back on that time. Some of the behind the scenes business stuff was interesting if true.

Everything on tv scripted and staged.

Fit in perfect with the other 3. So glad they kept the band together for this final run.

Sisu

Fun watch and a bit of Quentin Tarantino violence. Enjoyed it!

Anything but a new movie, but I watched Sicario again on a whim last night.

Goddamn what a brilliant movie. From the acting to the story to the pacing to the music. Dark AF, but it works and leaves a real mark. Just perfect, imho.

Swing Vote with Kevin Costner, as the dude who's vote will decide the election.

Hilarious and poignant! They made fun of the right and the left so it was great. The candidates suddenly moving off hardline party positions on abortion and environmental issues was hysterical.

Kesley Grammer as the President was perfect.

Stryker 07-08-2024 07:53 PM

Typical BHC loved that they had original Taggert and Rosewood! I really thought this was well done and I enjoyed.

Yup. That brought an audible "Damn!" out of me the first time I saw it.

I knew Denis Villeneuve directed it, but I hadn't realized Taylor Sheridan wrote it. Talk about a power move in Hollywood, pairing those two together.

Escaping the hot afternoon, my wife and I took in the matinee showing of Thelma
It was a really enjoyable movie, I laughed out loud (for real) several times. The story is of a grandma who gets scammed out of some money and decides she is going to get it back. The movie has a vibe somewhat like Little Miss Sunshine.

If you love your grandma you will like this movie. If you don't love your grandma you are probably a Raiders fan.

I got talked into seeing it last night.

It was better than I expected it to be, but even that said, it was pretty meh. It's an ok watch in the theater (and it might actually make it better with the immersive theater experience) but if you don't catch it there, you're not going to miss much waiting for it to hit streaming.

And I don't feel like I'm spoiling much by saying if that band of weather ever descended on this planet, people would automatically be calling it a Wrath of God type of event. It sort of took me out of the movie, but I knew what the movie was going to be, so it wasn't jarring.

RunKC 07-22-2024 01:27 PM

Twisters was decent. Impossible to top the original.

I really can’t decide if Glen Powell is a good actor or not. He was good as his character in Top Gun Maverick, was good in Hit man but pretty average in this one

ToxSocks 07-22-2024 01:58 PM

Watched "Long Legs" last weekend. Thought it was pretty good. Cage did fantastic. His character was creepy, and i dont say that often.

My only complaint about the movie is that i wish Cage's character had more screen time. Would recommend if you're into those Detective/Murder Mystery w/ Super natural elements kinda things.

Unlike other creepy serial killer/mystery movies, this one leans heavier on the super natural side. Totally worth a watch.

I have seen 973 out of 9,034 Nicolas Cage movies. So I am on my way but I will add this one to the list as well.

You should watch The Pentagon Wars with Grammer as a General - he's so great in those comic roles that are supposed to have a little gravitas to them.

The Bikeriders (I watched it on Peacock) is pretty good

Story of the Vandals motorcycle club in Chicago

Nothing Earth shattering or amazing, but I thought it was stylized nicely, cast and performed well, and was a nice easy watch. Thought they did a solid job of showcasing how each generation gets more extreme. These guy brawled and partied then the younger dudes got home from 'Nam and changed the culture. I feel thats something applicable across the board of life

Its got Tom Hardy and some other puffy lipped **** boy all the ladies like and Daryl from The Walking Dead has a small part

Check it out

Hammock Parties 08-10-2024 02:01 PM

Watched one of the few Arnold movies I had never seen before last night....Eraser.

LMAO

What a rollicking good time, although you can see the cracks forming in the cheesy 80s action hero Schwarzenegger as he tries to transition into a different era of filmmaking.

I think the best part was his mob buddies coming up in the earth mover and killing all the russians LMAO

Some really bad CGI too but that somehow made it better.

The plane sequence was ****ing rad. One of the best setpieces in any Arnold movie.

You're luggage!

Also loved the constant sexual tension between Vanessa Williams and Arnold. I bet he ****ed her.

The Bikeriders on Peacock

This was pretty good, a bit slow in the back half at times. I like the story is told through the photographer for parts and Jody Comer's character. Felt a bit like Goodfella's when the ladies are all sitting around talking about the men and how they act, etc. Neat story of how the "bike club" begins and slowly transforms into more of a gang.

It has a great cast. All sorts of people in there like Michael Shannon, Boyd Holbrook, Normal Reedus along with the main characters (Tom Hardy, Austin Butler)

Agreed. I don’t mind some gore, even gratuitous amounts from time to time, but that movie was just too much. Felt like they were more interested in shock value than creating a good scary movie.

Its only new to me, from 2022... but The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent was absolutely outstanding, just finished it

LOVED IT

A movie about a movie, within a movie that becomes the movie... an absolutely brilliant script, Hollywood needs way more of this kind of comedy/drama/satire mix all neatly wrapped up at the end

Bet you even Tarantino is jealous

Cage and Pascal are brilliant here, this movie was a genuine work of art
