Not sure what your "sport that's played outside" comment is meant to mean. This is a program that's seen the highest of highs, the fans and coaching staff have a desire to return. It's a simple as that. |

I was born in Lawrence and have been a Cardinals fan since I was 13. McGwire was one of my favorite players when I was a little kid. I don't give a shit about the Heat/Blackhawks/Seahawks. |

Te problem for Mizzou is nobody will pay any attention to them until they win something. And we all know that's never going to happen. The only guy who did give the harlot a glance was the school bully who hated her and dragged her by the hair. But at least SOMEONE noticed. Now? She's all alone.

Big12 projected to make 1.5 mil more per team next year than this years 22 mil each. That is only for first two tier rights.

@JonRothstein: The transfers at Iowa St next season could be the most impactful group of newcomers Fred Hoiberg has had in Ames. Dejean-Jones,Nader,McKay.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if a few stray Mizzouchebags living in Louisville go to that game tomorrow to root against us.

You DO realize the last time the Big 12 won a title in college baseball was 2005, right? |

SEC athletic achievements sure have taken a hit since mizzou joined the league. I suppose that could be a coincidence or simply a cyclical effect. Either way it sure is nice to be sitting pretty in the Big XII earning $22 million per "before" the third tier rights money comes in.

Mizzou currently has more 4* recruits than any team in the Big 12. I doubt that holds up and MU has still hasn't gotten everyone they've wanted, but the SEC has been really good for recruiting.

According to this the SEC made almost $100 million more than the Big 12..$309 million to $213 million |
Big XII was 5-0 in today's opening round of the NCAA Baseball Championship Tournament. Well done guys.

Since this is apparently no longer an Mizzou vs. KU thread and has seemingly turned into a Big 12 vs. SEC thread, we'll look at some numbers over the last 10 years to put things in perspective:
We'll start with 2005 (since Bambi noted the Big 12's 'championship' pedigree in college baseball), which was also the last time the Big 12 won a title in football, as well . . . . Big 12 vs. SEC since 2005 in 3 Major College Sports: Big 12 - 1 Football title (2005 - Texas), 1 Basketball Title (2008 - Kansas), 1 Baseball Title (2005 - Texas) = 3 titles in Big 3 College sports over last 10 years. SEC - 7 Football titles (Florida (2) - 2006 & 2008, LSU - 2007, Auburn - 2010, Alabama (3) - 2009, 2011, 2012), 3 Basketball Titles (Florida - 2006 & 2007, Kentucky - 2012), 3 Baseball titles (LSU - 2009, South Carolina - 2010 & 2011) = 13 titles in Big 3 College sports over the last 10 years. So can we stop the championship pedigree (Bambi) discussion now regarding Big 12 versus SEC? |

What's interesting about that article was that the Big 12 isn't doing full shares to WVU/tcu yet. So Kansas' payout was higher than the SEC and didn't even include the Tier 3 revenue we keep from hoops. So $30M or so for Kansas. Life is good |

That's what blows my mind. KU is getting more than the SEC schools and that's not even counting the 3rd tier money. The Big XII is laughing themselves to the bank when all these idiot schools decided to throw their identity away and join these huge conferences that already had 100 years of their own tradition. Nebraska, mizzou, A&M... It's like they never existed. |
Quote:

Nebraska and Mizzou left for more money, yet Iowa State and the rest of the Big12 made more money than them. LMAO

Where do I get my "we made, in the short term, marginally more money than you!" T Shirt?

And if it has been said once, it's been said a million times - if KU had been offered a spot in the SEC, you two mouth breathers would be sitting here talking about what a cluster**** the Big XII-2 really is.

Nebraska I'll never quite get. They were a big dog in football and although were inferior when compared to Oklahoma and Texas at least they had identity. They ruled the Big 8 for decades and were considered "the tradition" when people thought of college football in the midwest. Now they are many rungs under Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, etc. Shit, they are basically interchangeable with Wisconsin…all the way down to color and logo. Colorado? Who knows. They are kind of on an island no matter where they choose to play. A&M will forever be known as "the school Johnny Manziel went to after Texas didn't want him". I don't think that would be any different had they been in the Big 12 or SEC. |
