I moved no goalpost. He is a massive disappointment. He's on the DL contributing nothing. He has a lower WAR than Moose this year and you wouldn't dare to argue Moose isn't a disappointment.

This years production is certainly disappointing due to injury. Wil Myers isn't a massive disappointment. I am sure you can see the distinction, and how it differs from your original sensationalized point. I'd love to have that "massive disappointment" patrolling rf the next 5 years and batting clean up for the Royals.

Myers has produced 2.8 WAR since being traded. The guy who essentially took his playing time, Jarrod Dyson, is at 4.4 (and counting). Myers has 600 PA even with his DL stint while Dyson has only 440.


If you want to use Lough (2.4 WAR) as the RF last year and Aoki (1.1) this year and toss in Frenchy (-0.8), then it's a wash.

Again...."Massive Disappointment"

Stop the sensationalism and you're a solid baseball mind. So if you are asking, no I do not consider 2.8 WAR a massive disappointment. The guy was in triple A when they traded him. I am sure TB is happy with their decision.

5:48pm: The O’s are not in on Bonifacio, tweets Dan Connolly of the Baltimore Sun, who hears that the versatile fielder could be returning to Kansas City. Needless to say, that would be an interesting turn of events: Bonifacio finished well last year with Kansas City, was tendered a contract, agreed to a salary to avoid arbitration, and was then released before the start of the season.

I am trying to move the discussion away from this trade as the cause of our woes. The reality is, it's largely beside the main point which is: we simply aren't good enough to be a playoff team and probably won't be next couple years either.
