I think if the four 16-school-superconferences happen, KU will end up in one of them.

We're not that attractive of an option, but I'm sure we're somewhere in the top 64. Who knows though.

Yea, same goes for me. I think even Mizzou's preference is the B10, not only because of schools they would play against and that region of the country, but because of academics as well. I say they stay put in the new B12 (if they are able to salvage anything here from ATM's split) or they eventually go to the B10.
That being said, if the SEC calls and it is apparent the B12 is dead and the B10 doesn't return the phone call Mizzou will head to the SEC rather than be left out.
Overall, Mizzou is a big enough institution, market, with a growing football program and a decent bball program (we will see where this Haith ordeal goes though) to where I am not worried about us getting left in the dust with all of this conference realignment.

Insert 10 paragraph explanation from HolyHandGrenade how KU will end up in the Pac-16 or Big-10.

A lot of my worry comes from that fact that the Admin doesn't seem to be all that concerned with it.

I think KU will be fine as well. Everyone knows the football program is struggling, but the Bball program is elite and I cannot see a blue blood program like that not landing in a BCS program. Look at Duke, KU's football program is better than Duke's and they are in the ACC.
It may not be the best geographical fit, but I think they will manage out okay. I just hope it doesn't effect the rivalry game between Mizzou and that it is somehow salvaged regardless of what conferences each school are in.

Yeah, Laz, but you don't know that. It's all politics. Do you really expect them to come out and tell you exactly what their plan is? A lot of it is really not even under their control anyway.

All KU has to do is find 5 'homeless' schools that they're more attractive than.

Your candidates:

Texas Tech, OSU, Baylor, Iowa State, Louisville, Cincinnati, KSU, Southern Florida and BYU.

UT has no particular affinity for TT, and tech is a shithole, so that's 1 for KU. Iowa State is 2. KSU is very likely 3, Southern Florida makes 4 and I'd rather be KU than Baylor right now.

KU would probably land in the PAC-10 in the event of the 4 superconferences.

MU, despite having all the advantages in the world here, will still somehow end up in the Missouri Valley.

I have absolutely zero faith in these clowns...

You're correct, i don't. That's why i said "seem" ...

I would think having KU be academically and athletically high enough to be in demand by major conferences would be a major priority. Not because i think football IS the school but because i would think keeping the profile up at a national level is a priority for enrollment etc.

How do you suggest they do that?

Bambi 08-31-2011 02:05 PM

From some article:

A&M vs the SEC all time: 58-78-6 (.426 winning percentage)

Nebraska vs Big Ten all time: 79-68-9 (.537 winning percentage)

And just think, for many years Texas A&M was a pretty good football team.

They've made some headlines now for leaving hope they're reading for some losing.

Way above my pay grade, dude. LMAO

my sis works there and it just doesn't "seem" like it's a priority. I would think that they would have a list of criteria and go after stuff that would bring the school up in those areas.

It's time for Texas to step-up and prove their penis size. They walk around like they are the biggest, baddest mofos on the planet so let's see them prove it by bringing in Notre Dame to the Big 12.
