Chael Sonnen grinds out the clear victory. Coker must be happy, because they can market him.
This was a pretty good PPV with lots of wackiness, and maybe 2 good fights. edit: HAHAHA, Chael loudly declared in the middle of MSG, that he hates New York. |
This was unambiguously a fantastic success for Bellator. This particular card might not make a lot of money, because a lot of MMA fans went "lol **** that" and refused to pay for it, but there's gonna be a whole lot of "holy shit you missed an awesome show" word of mouth, and maybe next time they'll give it a chance.
They just need to pace themselves and realize they aren't at "we can sell a PPV every damn month" like the UFC, wait a few months for the fights to align, put together another interesting card, and sell it again, see what happens. |
You could have made a legitimate argument to stop that fight in the 3rd round there. Penn literally did nothing the last 5 minutes.

Hendricks is thoroughly screwed. Unless he absolutely needs the money, he should retire. He's competitive at Welterweight, but there's no way the UFC will let him try to cut to 170

Wow. Mario Yamasaki totally blew the main event.
Lee had the choke in deep but Chiesa wasn't tapping yet. Mario was expecting a tap I guess, stopped the fight and Chiesa was wide awake and angry. Lee was probably about to win, but it definitely was not for sure. |

Bad stop, one that would be a little easier to swallow if MY hadn't ****ed up several other calls in the last year or so

Mario has been skating on thinner and thinner ice every month. He's reaching the point where he should probably not be reffing anything on a main UFC card anymore. The funny thing is that Mario had a reputation for being a bloodthirsty ref, letting fights go way too long until a fighter is fully concussed, pouring blood, and half-dead before he finally stopped it, so its shocking to see an early stop from him now. |
Megan Anderson is out, only explanation so far is "intense personal reasons that are out of her control".
Cyborg will fight the invicta Bantamweight champ. I'm obviously skeptical that this will be a competitive fight, but hey, she went 10-0 (1) in her last 11 fights, so who knows. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">BREAKING: Anderson out, <a href="https://twitter.com/InvictaFights">@InvictaFights</a> bantamweight champ <a href="https://twitter.com/tonyaevinger">@TonyaEvinger</a> in to face <a href="https://twitter.com/criscyborg">@CrisCyborg</a> at <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/UFC214?src=hash">#UFC214</a> <a href="https://t.co/kdAwMHYrQw">pic.twitter.com/kdAwMHYrQw</a></p>— UFC (@ufc) <a href="https://twitter.com/ufc/status/879877210772914176">June 28, 2017</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |
Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone is hurt, and his bout with Lawler will probably be pushed back to UFC 214

The CSAC will not allow Renan Barao to fight at bantamweight at UFC 214. They have informed the UFC that they'll approve the fight at either 140 or 145.

I'm surprised no one here has posted about Justine Kish shitting herself in the fight with Felice Herrig.
