Wait a second: you're comparing a random link to numerous organizations that produce widely read academic rankings? You're not that stupid.

No. Dude...you're the one who started with the pointless map post of "most desirable colleges" in each state. How you thought that was relevant to anything is beyond me. What are the choices in Kansas other than KU and KSU? I didn't really didn't even bother to read your other links, but again, I fail to see the relevance. It's like you search for any chart or article that you think is some big MU burn and bring it here for all to laugh at. Only 99% of the people on this board know your schtick and it usually falls flat, like this one did.

My point was that it takes two seconds to find garbage similar to what you post. And if we're taking them to have merit, then the one I posted tells you that football rules the roost like we all already know.

Prison Bitch 05-09-2014 08:43 AM

I never said there was anything wrong losing to Wash U since that is a great school. It's another painful reminder of where Mizzou sits in the academic pecking order. Down with Kansas and Iowa State. It's just the way it always has been and will be.

Pitt Gorilla 05-09-2014 09:50 PM

Anyone keeping track of the draft picks by conference? I assume that information has been compiled somewhere.

Mizzou cranked out more draft picks in the first 3 rounds this year than kansas has in a decade I bet LMAO

Shit, the Big 12 altogether barely cranked out more draft picks in Day 2 today than MU did.

They had 3 altogether, we had two. More second rounders.

Prison Bitch 05-10-2014 09:24 AM

Has KU had anyone drafted yet? Wanna compare the SEC to the Big 12?

MU has great talent in the NFL, but I wouldn't mention Sulak in the conversation. I don't think he ever played a down.

Chris Harris rides Manning's coat tails to the Super Bowl (only to see his team get thoroughly embarrassed) and it equals "having more success in the NFL".

I had never heard that name so I googled:
Stryker Sulak (born June 17, 1986 in Rockdale, Texas) is a former American football linebacker with the Green Bay Packers. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the sixth round of the 2009 NFL Draft but was waived before he signed a contract. He played college football at Missouri.

http://mymissourian.com/2009/12/23/s...ed-in-the-nfl/

Quote:

After I got cut, things got pretty crazy. I started getting calls from a lot of teams to fly up for physicals and workouts. None of these were any fun because it was like doing pro-day workouts all over again. I would get a phone call at six in the morning and then I would fly out around noon that same day and go do workouts.

I had workouts with the Cincinnati Bengals, the Seattle Seahawks, the New England Patriots and the Atlanta Falcons all in a very short time span. Unfortunately none of those teams worked out. The big problem most teams had with me was with my physical. I had a stress fracture in my back and my ankle that most teams were concerned about.

So I’m sitting around for a couple of days doing nothing when I got a call from Green Bay. They flew me up, and I worked out. Initially they weren’t going to offer me anything because of my back. My agent talked to them and worked out a contract with specific conditions in regards to my injuries and the league minimum payment. If you ask me, it was really weird.

I signed with Green Bay two days before their first preseason game of the season. The first day I got there they handed me a full playbook and wanted me to learn it before the game. Nobody tried to help me with the playbook, and they had a lot of injuries on the team at the time. I was basically filling in for those guys for the time being. I knew what was going on, and I knew my time in Green Bay was limited, so I wanted to give it my best and make the most of it. I had to make as much money as I could while they were giving it to me.

After we played the Arizona Cardinals in preseason, I got cut again. I wasn’t getting much playing time, so I saw it coming.

Prison Bitch 05-10-2014 06:07 PM

I was kidding about wanting more info on this no-name

lol, you must not know much about football then.

Anthony Collins was an All American who just signed a $30 million contract with the Tampa Bay Bucs after starting on last year's Bengals playoff team.

In 2012 Chris Harris was 5th amongst all NFL DBs in yards allowed. Last year his team made the Super Bowl.

I've been doing that all week. Talib is the best of all in the NFL right now. Aldon Smith is probably second. However his off the field issues drop him to nearly last on the list.

Like I said, high comedy.
Talib isn't as valuable a player as JUSTIN Smith, much less Alden. Evidenced by the fact that he can't stay on one team. Chris Harris is just a guy, vs the defensive rookie of the year.

Alexander's career AV is 9 which isn't very good.

Justin Smith is at 125, Talib is at 35 and counting, Maclin 29, Moore 26, Aldon Smith 23, Harris is at 15, Anthony Collins 12. So Justin Smith is by far the most valuable Mizzou/KU player taken in the past 15 years and nobody else stands out.

Dana Stubblefield in the 1990s ended at 88 which indicates how long and steady Justin Smith has been. The rest of the MU players are mostly meh.

The rest of the Mizzou players are "meh," except based on your scoring here, they are significantly more valuable than the rest of the kU players.

Also you realize all the players on that list are at their score, "and counting," right? I mean, you don't honestly think Talib will finish his career higher than at least 2 or 3 of the Mizzou players on that list (barring injury) do you? You can't think that, right? ROFL

You kids still want to compare pro players?

That's kinda what we're doing. The data shows that Mizzou football in the Pinkel era has made very minimal impact on the NFL. Aldon Smith was the best shot to do that but we'll wait and see if he gets his personal life in order.

Oh, I see, you want to change the argument that was being made. By all means, let's deflect attention from the kU dumpster fire. I mean, I'll go to war with multiple 1st round picks, all pros, defensive rookies of the year, etc. you can have your above average cornerback and O Lineman.

It's as though you can't comprehend that Sheldon Richardson exists.

Nice post PB. I realize justin smith is a good player but he's getting pretty long in the tooth. Not sure of contracts but I'm assuming Talib is payed a bit more and I'm willing to gamble 32 out of 32 NFL GMs would take Talib today over Smith.

Decent debate though. Justin Smith doesn't nearly have the trouble with the law like most mizzou players. Might be why I missed him in my rankings.

LMAO Talking up Talib while bagging on Mizzou for trouble with the law? Have you completely lost your mind? LMAO

Aqib Talib is an above-average cornerback, the kind every team would like to have on its roster.

But you can’t talk about Talib without addressing the numerous off-field issues that have marred his career. Now that Talib’s tenure with the Bucs is over – he was traded to the Patriots earlier today – let’s take one last look at his history of character problems.

July 2008: Talib reportedly fights with fellow Bucs draft pick Cory Boyd at the rookie symposium, an event designed to help rookies make a smooth transition into the NFL. It’s unclear who started the fight or what was at issue.

May 2009: Talib strikes teammate Torrie Cox near the eye while wielding his helmet in an altercation with offensive tackle Donald Penn. Cox was attempting to be a peacemaker between the two when he was inadvertently hit by Talib. Cox required multiple stitches.

Asked about controlling his temper, Talib said, "I've definitely got to work on it. It's a family though. When you're out here with your brothers. . . I mean, you fight. It comes with being a family. We're all brothers out here. Me and Donald, we're perfectly fine today. It's behind us.”

August 2009: Talib is arrested in St. Petersburg for simple battery and resisting arrest for assaulting a cab driver from the back seat of the taxi. Talib later agrees to a pre-trial program with prosecutors and reaches an undisclosed financial settlement with the driver. The NFL hands down a 1-game suspension in 2010 for violating the personal-conduct policy.

November 2010: After a costly penalty in a close loss to the Ravens, Talib engages in a fierce argument with a game official and has to be restrained outside the team’s locker room. The official also responded with expletives. Then-coach Raheem Morris defended Talib, saying he didn’t do anything wrong.

March 2011: Talib and his mother, Okolo, are charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after an altercation with the live-in boyfriend of Talib’s sister. Talib is accused of firing shots during an argument on a residential street. The charges are later dropped, according to Talib’s attorney, because the prosecution’s witness was not credible.

October 2012: Talib is suspended for four games by the NFL for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. Talib, in a statement, says he took a single Adderall pill without a prescription. The drug is considered a banned substance under the league’s PED policy.
