I don't know if I'd want them to take our 3rd best reliever. If they were targeting Crow, I'd be okay with that.

Although, and I'll be shot for this... but if they are truly willing to eat Ryan Howard's monster contract like the reports claim, I'd be curious to see what it'd take to get him. He's not the guy he was 5 years ago but he still has 25 HR power, and he's a Missouri native. He seems like the type of veteran Billy Beane would buy low on and rejuvenate into a productive DH.

IF that were to happen, the question becomes is, who would take Butler then?

Howard's son lives in the KC area... I'd think he would be amenable to a move to KC between that and being from MO.

Phillies would have to eat almost all of the contact, though. All but maybe $10 million (total).

Lets get Howard, Hamels (his wife is from Missouri and they have a place in Springfield), and John Mayberry, Jr. Bring the Missouri boys home. ;)
