I'm still waiting because I'm not doing the pay to not be late bullshit. But it doesn't sound great, hopefully the gameplay is good at least. Should know by now not to expect anything from EAsports.

CFB 25 looks like Madden tbh
|
I’m loving ncaa 25
I don’t think it feels much like madden. Back in NCAA hay day, I did t touch madden for probably a decade. Loved NCAA too much. THen after it went away I switched to madden and hated it. Didn’t play it until mahomes was on the cover the. Only played for two months. It wasn’t until I got a PS5 last year that I picked up Madden. I’m currently messing around with RTG as a QB from Bowling Green. Rush of memories flooded back remembering when I would play several RTG with my own invented storylines. I love the passing setting of accuracy and power . I haven’t touched dynasty yet. Just flipping back and forth between RTG and play now/playing random games. . |
Stomping ku with a 60 overall "cupcake create a team" was always fun, but of course they probably took away create a team like they did in Madden. Bastards
|
Watched a couple of interesting CFB25 videos.
Obviously, Kollmann is complicating it... you don't have to be a wizard at pass protections to know if you constantly have empty sets, the CPU might get to the QB (and he just leaves the QB standing there for demonstration). But, being able to play around with those schemes is cool. The review points out the two things that somehow got far worse between the mid-2000s and ~2010-2012... dynasty mode being really easy and simmed games being all ****ed up with far too many upsets and then weird playoff match ups. He mentions a patch though, if that's on its way and they're looking at fixing those issues, that would be sweet.... or at least the simmed games and simply difficulty when playing correlating to who you're playing (and not the exact opposite). I might pick it up eventually and just deal with the flaws... a lot of people are saying the gameplay is really fun. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/H2YQ6dcFbEk?si=yNbJscWpfI_30zTy" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/md5U8esOQu0?si=4TA1j1Ihw2XF6jL7" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
the gameplay on dynasty with adjusted sliders to make it a little more realistic is pretty good. I had to turn the music off though, those constant drums were something else.

Someone play me in college football online. I have no mic fyi
Who's up for it? |
First game I played in CFB25, my team had 5 roughing the punter penalties.

It's incredible how less options this thing has than '14 Coach carasoul doesn't work. Contracts are broken on coaches as well. You don't have that natural coach progression to new programs like a decade ago Won the heisman with a 80 overall DE because he got alot of TFL No offline custom teams No league history. Awards champions. Nothing. Recruiting is broken Progression is broken. Kennesaw State is 84 overall in year 3 with only a few 3 star recruits. Most of the increase came from existing scrubs on their roster blowing up and the Tactician perk of my coach broke the game. How can a game 10 years later on a superior machine be a far less immersion experience? Simply unbelievable how disappointing this game is when it should be incredible |

I never played Horizon Forbidden West, had it on PS5, loved the first one even though it drags in long sections of the game, but been getting into Forbidden West on Steam, new 4k gaming monitor, really having a good time with it even though the game has been out for years at this point, but feels good to soak time into an enjoyable gaming experience again, and going to do the same for Jedi Survivor next.

Last patch was game breaking |
Madden feels very similar to years prior, but now they added a lot more animations where the ball carriers bounce off tackles. And now there are 3 separate announcer crews which they've needed for a long long time.
Corndog is in the playbook now too. I tried it from the 2 yard line. It was covered well but I ran it in with Mahomes anyway. |

And how often do starters just transfer when they are going to start again the next season for a school like KU? 5-6 per year seems weird to me but I haven't been paying that much attention to college football over the years. |

Well I just played my first game. I haven’t played since Mahomes and Brady were on the cover. I must say the game’s incredibly realistic. Toney injured himself on a running play where he wasn’t touched in the third quarter and was out the rest of the game.

This looks interesting:
https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/...d898b2e3&ei=18 AntStream Arcade is expanding to PS4 and PS5, offering retro gaming fans access to 1,300 classic video games through cloud streaming. The subscription service, priced at $39.99 yearly or $99.99 lifetime, includes titles from NES, Sega Genesis, Atari, and more, with new games added weekly. AntStream emphasizes video game preservation, community engagement, and mini game challenges in addition to offering retro gaming experiences. AntStream Arcade, a third-party retro game streaming service, will soon be making its way to PS4 and PS5 consoles. AntStream Arcade is a subscription gaming service that, for $39.99 per year or $99.99 for lifetime access, offers cloud access to more than 1,300 classic video games. Its imminent addition to the PlayStation Store will instantly provide retro gaming fans with a plethora of new titles to enjoy, without the hassle of dealing with adapters, emulators, or ROMs. AntStream Arcade became available on Xbox consoles a little over a year ago and has been well received on that platform. This actually made several classic PlayStation 1 titles — including Hogs of War and Worms — playable on Xbox. AntStream also offers games originally released on the NES, Sega Genesis, Atari Lynx, and even Amiga, among many others. The cloud gaming service adds two new titles to its catalog every week, with the total offering currently hitting 1,357. Despite their age and technological limitations, many arcade games from the golden age are still an absolute blast to play today. During AntStream’s Arcade Connect Presentation on August 14, it was revealed that the streaming service will soon be available on PS4 and PS5 consoles. Though CEO Steve Cottam stated in the presentation that the service was “available now” on PlayStation platforms, as of the time of writing, it can only be wishlisted on the PlayStation Store. Nevertheless, the addition of AntStream Arcade will mark the first time a third-party cloud streaming service has joined the PlayStation ecosystem and will surely be welcomed by retro gaming fans. What Does AntStream Arcade Have on Offer? Also during the presentation, AntStream gave a preview of the retro games that subscribers can expect to see added to the service now or in the near future, including Gun Force 2, Tiger Shark, and Doodle World. But AntStream also now offers new retro indie games, such as ones created with PICO-8 Fantasy Console. In August, the platform is adding two PICO-8-developed titles: Puzzles of the Paladin and Mad Bomber. These games retain the classic 8-bit aesthetic that retro gamers appreciate, but also have the potential to integrate modern-day quality-of-life considerations that are sometimes noticeably missing from games created decades ago. Now that it’s coming to PlayStation, AntStream Arcade is available for retro fans on Xbox, PC, Epic Games Store, iOS, Android, and even Samsung TVs and Amazon Fire TV. But the cloud gaming service isn’t just for playing games. AntStream has an active Discord community and offers mini game challenges and world tournaments as well. The company also places an emphasis on video game preservation, which is increasingly important as the number of classic games available for purchase out in the wild is now incredibly low. |

At this point I’ve completed every salvage contract, damn near every side quest, climbed all those dumb ass signal towers, and only have one of the black boxes and survey drones left to find. I will probably wrap up the main storyline here within the next week or so. |
The game is really good so far.
A lot of the same from Zero Dawn, which I was OK with. This one has more weapons and gear by far.
Spoiler!

I. LOVE ncaa 25
It’s got its warts etc but man it’s so mf fun. Especially once you learn pass protection concepts and coverages etc I went down a football 101 rabbit hole and I’ve been enjoying the **** out of it. It’s hard. And it’s great. It makes the moments when you call the right play and the defense plays the coverage you were expecting and you have pass pro set up and let it rip. So rewarding. IMO of course |
Anyone interested in the Silent Hill 2 remake? Just curious of thoughts on this. Seems like they are remaking so many older games now a days.
Do you like this current trend? :hmmm: |
Quote:
I don't know if the remake of SH2 will be good or shitty. From what I've seen, it could go either way. I'm sure there will be some things that I don't like since I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to these games. I just wish they would remaster the originals and release them on the PS store. Seems like an easy cash grab. |

I ended up liking the story for Zero Dawn a bit more but this one was definitely interesting as well. I’ll spoiler tag this for you just in case, though I don’t think it’s super spoilery. It’s more so advice about some of the stuff you just mentioned.
Spoiler!

Any suggestions for a good one on one online shooter, these days? Where you can just log in and frag your buddy? Something basic bitch with sniper rifles and vehicles and shit. We're men of simple tastes. |
NM, DF Blackhawk Down FTW!!!!!!!! Direct IP play. LMAO

Anybody following the drama over the new big multiplayer game Concord?
Apparently in development for 8 years. Debuted like 2 weeks ago. But player numbers are so abysmal that they're completely pulling the game on Sept. 6th, and issuing everyone refunds. I hope developers are learning something... Sony is taking Concord offline on September 6th after disastrous launch |

Sony put a lot of money into concord and I enjoy watching the fallout ROFL
They just pulled the plug less than 2 weeks after it came out. I bet not one lesson was learned either. |

For any WoW fans that have been thinking about the new Xpac: Do it.
Ive been enjoying after basically tapping out early the last 3 xpacs. But the new design aimed at encouraging alt play has been great. I'm liking the current iteration of the game. It's casual friendly, the new talents are fun and im loving the move to more cosmetic reward systems rather than the game just being about grinding for the latest tier set of w/e. |
I picked up Pathfinder: Kingmaker from Steam when it was on sale a few weeks ago for $2.99.
I've never heard of it before so I thought I'd throw it out there and if you were a nerd like me in middle school and played D&D this game rocks. It's not as refined as Baulder's Gate from what I've taken in but it's very granular in game play and customization and guaranteed to last you at least 100 hours of game play. There's some newer games in the Pathfinder ecosystem that are more refined. This of this one as a poor man's Baulder's Gate. <iframe src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/MR-1t28ngkk?si=dgPYgdW6m3Iuw4xj" title="YouTube video player" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen="" width="560" height="315" frameborder="0"></iframe> |

I'm enjoying this as a lover of the original. Also plays a bit like the old Lord Of the Rings Rise of The Witch King rts from EA(RIP). |
PS5 Pro for $700. No disc drive. Cheap plastic stand sold separately.
Where are the games? We barely got any true PS5 exclusives since launch. But it's fine. Im getting a better PC pretty soon. I'm more interested in older games at this point. Most of what I play on PS5 are remakes and remasters besides FromSoftware stuff. |
