Today marks exactly 2 weeks into his holdout.

How much longer are they in St. Joe, and will he make an appearance there at all?

Looks like 8/17 is the last day based on the schedule the Chiefs posted. So another $500K or so in fines. Would think after that he shows up to practice. Then again, his holdout is not rational to begin with, so guess we'll have to see.

Given the problems with the DL WHY DIDN’T THE CHIEFS GO AFTER YANNICK Ngakoue who the Bears just signed? Or they could’ve gone after Suh who the Buccaneers just resigned. Who else is out there?

Because they currently have less than $1 million in cap space.

I worded that wrong. Wanting to be paid what you are worth shouldn't be considered greedy. If you wanna be technical about it, then you could call everyone making more than $500,000/yr greedy. It's an intense desire to be paid more than what is needed.

Chris Jones is being a bitch because the Chiefs didn't resign Frank Clark. Now he is going to try to get all the money that he can.

He would have taken much less if Frank Clark had also been signed. But since they let him walk... he is being pissy.

So, since Veach and Reid are such great talent evaluators... trade him for draft picks. Stock up and go get what is needed in the draft?

I am starting to lean towards this. I mean why pay him "handsomely" when he is going to be 30 and he is under contract. Let him play out this years contract and move on from him in 2024. I do want to keep Bolton and Sneed. Look to the draft and FA in 2024. Why give a 30 yro $30 mill plus God only knows "guaranteed" $$$$$ :hmmm:

Or let him play out this year and then tag him. Then do it again. Then let him go.

If Donovan Smith is a good pass blocker, and are young WRs burst onto the scene in any way at all, it doesn't much matter if we trade Chris Jones.

Losing Chris Jones is not going to meaningfully impact our Vegas SB odds.

For this season it does. It absolutely does.

Chris Jones needs to be playing for this team this season

I'm good with this.

Chiefs can win the Super Bowl without Jones, but the margin for error is much smaller.

Their best shot to win it again this season is with Jones on the field.

Hi you two!

How are you two doing? It's been about 19 hours - how's life been?

The Chiefs paid him what he was worth once before. He isn't 25 anymore. This isn't a "what have you done for me" more than it is a "what can you do for me deal structure.

DT's have historically fallen off in their early 30's. Even Aaron Donald had it happen last year. Paying someone that much for that risk is why this is taking so long and may not get done.
