For a reference Bengals fans and old time Chiefs fans will understand, Joe Burrow is the modern day equivalent of Ken Anderson from the 70's and 80's.
Solid QB that had 2 or 3 really good years (stat wise), even won an MVP one year (81 or 82?), led his team to a Super Bowl but lost to the Niners and Montana. Otherwise, a few 'solid' years, but a largely forgettable career outside of that. Did lead his team to four 10+ win seasons over a 10-15 year period. Didn't do anything notable in the playoffs outside of the SB year (82, I believe). Any of this sounding familiar?
I think when we look back on Joe Burrow's career, this is what it will be. Part of that is due to circumstance of playing in an AFC with 3 better QB's which will prevent him from making any real deep playoff runs more than once or twice or winning any MVP's (he may get one at some point?). He's also at the disadvantage of playing with a team and organization that doesn't care as much about winning as the other 3 QB's teams do.
So, it is what it is.
