College Basketball has a preseason, a regular season, and postseason playoffs.

Just like MLB, NFL, NBA, etc etc

College Football has very little similar to all these leagues. It's an exhibition which lets us drink beer starting at 10am.

How can you call it anything else with no playoff system?

Ross filed restraining order on teammate
By STEVE WALENTIK
Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 2:00 pm

Former Missouri basketball player Earnest Ross filed a petition for an order of protection against teammate Zach Price a day before Price was twice arrested on suspicion of domestic assault and assault.

In the petition, filed at 4:04 p.m. April 2 at the Boone County Courthouse, Ross checked that the respondent had knowingly and intentionally caused or attempted to cause me personal harm, stalked me, harassed me and followed me from place to place. He requested that the court issue an order of protection preventing Price from coming within 100 feet of him or communicating with him.

Ross described the abuse or stalking by saying Price engaged in "wreckless driving near car, hit my car a few times, was following me and trying to steer me off the road," and indicated that it occurred near Rock Bridge Elementary School.

He wrote that Price "tried to harm me and put me in danger. He performed illegal traffic violations in order to harm me and my vehicle" and that he "followed me while I was going to police station. My girlfriend was also in the vehicle."

In describing why there was an immediate and present danger of abuse or stalking, Ross wrote "he has tried to harm me and my girlfriend in my vehicle, tried to run me off the road several times. I feel threatened by this activity and violated. He endangered my life and not only me but others around me. All I want is to feel safe."

In describing his relationship with Price, Ross wrote that they "were good friends." Under the category of relationship with respondent, Ross marked the box that said he and the respondent never resided together.

Price was arrested Thursday on suspicion of second-degree assault after victims reported that he intentionally rammed their car with his car at least twice near the area of Bethel Church Road and Route K. The alleged victims reported the incident occurred in the afternoon on April 2, but police were still investigating that incident until Thursday afternoon, when they arrested Price at his residence.

Price had previously been arrested after an incident with the same alleged victims — a 23-year-old "male roommate" who wasn't identified in the probable cause statement and a 23-year-old female — near Stadium Boulevard and Ash Street that occurred shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday morning. In that incident, Price was alleged to have blocked in the victims with his car, exited his own vehicle and punched the male victim in the face before pushing the female victim to the ground when she tried to intervene.

That incident occurred after Ross filed the petition for the order of protection against Price.

I will watch Mizzou if the game is on, but I don't follow basketball. Same for the NBA or any other basketball. I just don't like the game, generally find it boring. I'm a football fan.

This is me as well. Growing up I was a baseball fan only, no NFL or college for me. All baseball all the time. As I got older, I chased a girl in Columbia and had some real fun, so I started rooting for Mizzou out of proxy, heh. These days I'm still a baseball fan, but now I'm an NFL junkie and a supporter of Mizzou athletics.

Price transferred from Louisville last summer, and was sitting out this season. He never played a minute in a Missouri uniform.

Northern Iowa, SIU, Bradley, and both ISU's have more potential than any Sun Belt basketball team. Hell, throw Loyola in there because they're from Chicago. There is literally no point in moving hoops only - the conference is more spread out than the Valley with worse teams, raising costs and lowering our RPI. The only way I would support a Sun Belt move is if the football team came along, as there would be a benefit.

A ton of trouble, for not any titles.

Seven Mizzou football and men’s basketball players have been arrested eight times since January. That includes Green-Beckham’s arrest on suspicion of marijuana possession in January, but not an arrest based on a police report that alleges Green-Beckham broke into an apartment last weekend, damaged property and pushed a woman down four stairs. That tally also doesn’t count an independent investigation scheduled to be released Friday about the alleged rape and eventual suicide of former swimmer Sasha Menu Courey.

The last "golden" ticket to FBS competition may not be taken this spring. Three schools are apparently in the running to become the 12th football member of the #FunBelt: James Madison (who most of the #FunBelt wants more than anyone, but they would rather wait for a MAC or C-USA invite), Missouri State (who the western members of the #FunBelt want more than anyone, but they do not have the resources or fan support to upgrade), or Liberty, who really, really want to upgrade, but the members of the #FunBelt are not seriously considering (even though they are the league commissioner's favorite).

KU football sucks out loud even with all the "talent" they send on, and Missouri has the balls to kick those players off its team, even if they are bona fide superstars.

KU players who violate the law are dismissed before they see the field.

At MU they play until they nearly kill a female (or rape).

And what is the there to show for it? Oh yea, the cotton bowl!

We all have our goals.

Your goal apparently is to re-live the glory from 2007 over and over again. You can't move forward always looking behind you.

I wonder if there is some old fart Army vet that still crows about the Army National Championships from the 40's. Probably is.

Not one single solitary shit is given by Mizzou fan. He could have gone to ****ing Baker to coach b-ball and there would have been a knock down drag out party in the streets of Columbia, just because he's no longer there.

He's gone. That is all that matters. Time to do celebratory shots.

Lol
I wish I could've gone to Vegas and bet on you trying to paint this as something negative for Mizzou.
You are predictably unintelligent.

Not sure why you're laughing.... Haith leaving is great news for Mizzou. He sucks.

The whole "he wants a coach who adheres to NCAA rules" after the Miami scandal is why.

But Haith was bad no?

He was/is.
Watch, Bambi will do her best to post about this as if Mizzou is being ditched, here. Completely ignoring the fact that the guy saw the writing on the wall and is trying to preserve his bank account.

Moving to the SEC! SEC! was obv going to be the downfall of that basketball program. Everyone outside Mizzou knew it. Now their coach is leaving for a WAC position. When Norm dies, that program dies with him.

That's what happens when there are 2 Final Four teams in the conference.

Tulsa is actually joining the AAC this summer. You know, the conference with the current national champion.

Without spending much time analyzing Mizzou basketball - which no sane man would do - it seems he lost his 3 best players and didn't get good feedback from new mercenaries he wanted to bring in. So he was looking at a losing record and a termination. He will let the new coach have a shell roster.

They will be very bad the next couple years no matter who they hire. At least there won't be any sexual assaults. Hopefully.

Eleazar 04-18-2014 10:58 AM

Haith leaving is an obvious upgrade, and we don't even know who they've hired yet.

I am sure that they will have no trouble getting a good coach in there to compete in a conference that comprised half the final four this year. They have the cash to spend, even if it is to try to upgrade a secondary sport. Look at the cranes over the football stadium if you don't think they do.

Bowser 04-18-2014 11:05 AM

Let's be honest - if Mizzou wants to be competitive right out of the blocks with their new coach, it's going to cost them. They CAN pony up if they so choose, so it will be interesting to see where they go in their search.

But ultimately it's like Cochise said - Haith gone is an upgrade in and of itself.

The Chick-fil-A Bowl is called the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl again.

Quote:

The change back to Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl stems from last April’s decision by College Football Playoff organizers to make the Atlanta bowl one of six rotating sites of national semifinal games.

The playoff organizers stipulated that the Atlanta bowl’s name would have to become more in sync with the other five in the semifinal rotation, all of which include a traditional moniker as well as a corporate sponsor: Allstate Sugar Bowl, Discover Orange Bowl, AT&T Cotton Bowl, Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and Rose Bowl Presented by Vizio.

Go hire a KU grad. Seriously, ask Colorado-Wake-San Fran-Florida Gulf if they're happy. Why would you hire someone from Miami FL when you can get a KU alum who is guaranteed to know what he's doing. Hell our grads built te Kentucky and Carolina programs too

I'll give you that - I never understood once why Haith was even on the radar. Not landing Matt Painter showed that Alden went into the process with no backup plan whatsoever, and we see how that turned out.

He has to do WAY better due diligence this time around. If that leads to an up and coming KU assistant, then fine by me, if that guy has what they are looking for.

Prison Bitch 04-18-2014 11:25 AM

You shoulda hired Danny Manning last year. Not sure he takes the job but Mizzou is a huge jump for an assistant and you pay well. He could walk into any home in KC or St Louis and connect instantly with all the black families sice hes well known locally. St Louis alone should provide MU enough talent to be a ranked team each season. That city is probably the best talent center in about a 9 state area apart from Chicago

Setsuna 04-18-2014 11:47 AM

Why is this about nothing but Missouri and Kansas?
