Dana White was on Jim Rome, and some great quotes came out of that.

Well they had to drum some sort of buzz and interest for this fight since Nick wouldn't do it for them...very calculated move Dana.

I'm thinking his agent/management read him the riot act when he missed the 2nd flight. |

Looks like I'll be getting the PPV after all. Couple people want to see it on my new TV, and are willing to split the cost.
|
Weidman had a rib injury, the fight against Belfort is off.
Rousey vs. Zingano will headline now and Holly Holm's fight will be the co main....oof, goodbye buyrate. |

Women headliners? So much fail!
|
Well, crap. Oh well, I'm committed to ufc 184, got a trip planned already to see it with my brothers (also ufc fans).

Gastelum was TEN pounds over at the weigh ins and rumor is that the fight vs TWood tomorrow night is off.
What a clown.... |
TEN DAMNED POUNDS?!?
Holy crap. Well that fight's off, and the card suffers a bit. I'm guessing Tate moves up into the PPV? edit: and Lineker was over by 5 pounds. edit2: Apparently the fight is actually still on after "extensive" negotiations and 30% fine that goes to Woodley. |
Nope the fight is going ahead....30% purse fine goes to TWood.
How the hell are they letting this go on?!? |
Does a guy not know he is over heading in? Not very professional.

well, looks like I might watch a boxing match for the first time in 17 years.
Media reporting tonight that Mayweather-Pacquiao is pretty much a done deal. |
Apparently Gastelum was having a very rough cut. It was going to be close but he was on the way to making weight, but he collapsed Friday morning and had to go to the hospital where they rehydrated him. So, thats why he was 10 over. Gastelum's coach says he probably shouldn't be fighting, but its up to Gastelum and he wants to fight.
Dana White just announced that both Gastelum and Lineker will have to move up a division. Gastelum is going to be a middleweight from now on. |
The UFC tried to set up an interim middleweight title fight between Belfort and Machida for 184, but Belfort refused, saying he's been training to face a wrestler, and a southpaw karate fighter is too different with one month notice.
Reportedly Belfort and his coaches told the UFC that Romero, Souza, Rockhold, or Munoz would all be acceptable substitutes. |
This is a bad look for Gastellum. He was never exactly shredded at 170, he will be a very small 185er
|
I just tried about 25 different streams from 5 different sites, every one shit. Its not my internet either.
|
Does it make me sexist if I have absolutely zero interest in watching two chicks fight?

Huh, a standing TKO. Never saw that before, but I gotta agree with the ref, standing or not, Lauzon was done.
|

OK, I think we can all agree that a welterweight, a Jon Jones, or heavyweight title fight are all more compelling, but setting all that aside, Rousey vs Cat is very interesting, and I'd rather see that than tiny men. (flyweights) Who cares if they have small boobs under a sports bra, Rousey's Judo throws are crazy-good. |
I think Gastelum won, but not sure. He's gonna get straight murdered in middleweight.
|
This has been a great card so far. A submission, standing ko, a 10lb weight differential, and now nick and Anderson.

Someone should update me on Diaz / Silva
|
Round one was bananas. Diaz is mad trash talking Silva. He actually laid on the ground and hopped back up to mock Silva.
|
Silva won at least 1 of the first 2 rounds.
Its either 19-19 or 20-18 Silva |
Silva with 2 out of 3. He looks tentative though. He seems to be pausing and second guessing himself on some strikes that he should take, though. That's just my uninformed opinion.
|
Silva looks like he just went into the ring for a workout/sparring session. Diaz is beat to shit.
|
Nick Diaz was a douche after the fight. Jesus. He's saying "Let's go" but he wasn't bringing shit.
Saying he should have won the judgement. Lord. Delusional much? |

Diaz, dude, your face is all messed up. You did not win, geez.
|
Think Silva is done? I doubt it
|

Unless this was one of those "I want to prove that I still could do it before I walk away" things just to prove to us that the injury didn't take him out. |
Last two fights of the night sucked shit.
|
Never really liked Diaz but you have go respect him for going up in weight and trading with Silva like that. Dude is ****ing tough.
|
|
Thought Gastelum got robbed of a win.
Thought the fight went: 1 - Gastelum 2 - Woodley 3 - Gastelum Not sure how the hell 1 judge thought Woodley won every single round. |

My cousin who has some vehement hatred for MMA decided to watch this card with me. I was hoping Diaz and Silva would convert him over. I was sorely mistaken.
It would be like trying to convert your friend over to fat chicks by showing him nude spreads of Roseanne Barr. |

I missed the event last night but it is nice to see silva pounded that stupid mofo Diaz.
Shit talkers that can't back it up are the worst. |
Hardly pounded him...it was a glorified sparring session.
Had high hopes for that fight...no idea why Diaz didn't move forward and press AS, the few times he did it worked. |

And on the fight itself, I felt both fighters were hesitant because they are both good strikers.

Looks like Bones Jones didn't spend much time in the rehab...

I know Rico had a positive test when he was fighting tomato cans outside the UFC as his career was in the shitter? Was he a daily user then?

Common sense here goes a long way. Dude test positive for a substance in December that is not a performance enhancer, but actually effects the cardiovascular and muscular systems in a negative way if used daily. Kicks this awful disease 4 weeks prior to the biggest fight of his career while in the middle of a training camp then goes out and kicks DC's ass for 5 rounds. Is sent to rehab then given the boot 24 hours later.
Yeah, dude just likes to party a bit hard on occasion. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm not emotionally invested in the guy either way, but I do enjoy watching him fight since he is damn good so I don't care if he's an addict or not. I'm just putting things in perspective here. IMO Dana played it up a bit to garner some sympathy for him as a victim that is trying to over come his demons rather than saying dude when out had a few drinks and a few lines at the club. |

Breaking News: Both Silva and Diaz pissed hot.
Diaz for MJ, which who cares. But Silva's apparently positive for steroids, pending a test of his B sample. Silva probably needs to retire if true. |

Minor bit of controversy. Silva's test was an out of competition test from an independent lab on January 9th. Nevada and the UFC did not receive the results of the test until today. If they would have gotten it before UFC 183, Silva would not have been able to fight.
The cynical conclusion is obvious, but officially, no one knows why it took so long for the independent lab to notify Nevada and the UFC. |
it was drostanolone. A cutting cycle anabolic. Using it to make weight i guess
