You might be right...if it were just MU leaving. As it stands, the Big12 is going to lose MU, NU and probably CU.

which is a whole nother matter...at that point we're knee deep in a wave of reorganization which is going to affect everyone...it's coming sooner or later...

You'd think that when they see what the Big10 is going to do to the Big East, they would cave in. Isn't the Big10 basically saying, "If you join, great! If you don't, we're going to take another team from your basketball conference." ?

not sure why you think that is some mortal blow...what the hell has MU ever accomplished?

losing NU's national profile will be much harder to replace than a team with no title success in anything..

give me pitino, a bball team with a national history and profile, and a football program with resources...

i have no problem with MU going to the big 10, they should jump at the chance, I'd say the same for KU...but the hilarious idea the MU is irreplaceable....wow

when/if the big 12 flys apart it will be because of economics forces that have squat to do with mu...

Yes, the economic forces that will eventually destroy the Big 12 - 3 will have absolutely nothing to do with losing 2 of its largest television markets.

Gotcha.

Gotcha.

It certainly won't help the Big12's future TV contract negotiations.

no they don't

MU fans are like Mecca and USC now...he thinks he's smart because his team is good....MU fans think they're important because they're part of the same league as....Northwestern...

the economic forces driving this are way bigger than MU...MU is just fall out from an inevitable re-ordering which will take down most likely the big 12, and smaller conferences, and result in some form of super-confrences in 5-15 years as most think....

i'm not saying mu shouldn't be happy to be in the big-10...they should.

but let's quit with the "omg we are so awesome now" hilarity...

I guess we will just file this along with your previous straw man that nobody put forth that mu is irreplaceable.

Now?

We're just a little more awesome, since we're going to be a part of a superior conference. ;)

Being a part of B10 won't magically make you a conference winner, much less any sort of NC. ;)

Can you imagine what it would be like being one of 2-4 teams in the central time zone and 12-14 teams being pacific? That would be a disaster. There's a reason conferences don't cross into three time zones.

It's been horrible for the AFCW.

Here are the schools I have heard fans other Big 12 schools say would be better members of the Big 12 than Missouri: Utah, BYU, Louisville, New Mexico, and TCU. Please, add to the list!
