Some of the NFL's 'evaluators' are dumb af though, and we know that.

I mean, I don't have a dog in this, so ultimately, whatever. Just observing just how ridiculous some NFL teams can be. At the very least, NYJ, NYG, CLE, PIT, TEN, LVR, NOR, and ATL all are going into the season without a QB1, and Shadeur is probably going to end up being better than whoever those teams are starting this season.

And several of the GMs/HCs of those teams probably won't survive the season starting whoever they're starting in 2025.

But all of them? Hell, even the Chiefs would have taken Shadeur by now if they thought he was a starter level NFL QB and used him as an asset.

The leaguewide consensus on his future looks pretty clear.

Maybe not 100% of them. most of them? I could pretty easily see that.

Funny he went to CLE. I originally thought he could go there. It might be the best place for him, from a HC/OC perspective. Better than ending up in NYG, NYJ, PIT, or NOR.

I hope Sanders has a redemption tour. Will be the first time without his overbearing father. It might be like a weight lifted off his shoulders. I'm rooting for the guy.

Gravedigger 04-26-2025 12:27 PM

Daniel Jeremaih made great points, now the ball is in his court, he's going to have to earn everything. You want to break away from your father's shadow? To be selected when you were, in a four person QB room, on that team with that history, in that division with two of the better QBs in the league, to make your own career, if you're able to do it then you will have definitely earned it.

I hope that is fake.

Imagine. You think you should be the top qb drafted. Ego. Nepotism. You get passed over in 5 rounds. Keep dropping. Then get drafted to the worst qb team in the league. They already have 3 qbs signed. And drafted two. You were not the first qb drafted.

You think pulling an eli will work? No teams wanted him.

This is the greatest thing ever. He is either going to learn to work hard and try to get to a better situation or he will crash out.

Or. Deion trys to be the head coach next year of the browns.

49ers with Lance and Purdy.

Pretty good track record with 2nd selected QB's for teams that double dipped.

I like the pick, this is a prove it pick from the Browns, Shedeur is a lot of hype and now he has an IMMENSE opportunity to show if he has any real substance, it's almost like a movie in real life. Also, the Browns are desperate for a QB so creating as much competition as possible should be a good thing

It's not a bad spot for him. I mean, Watson isn't going to be the starter, that's almost a certainty. So, Shadeur has to sit behind Flacco for a year, no more than that. I doubt Pickett or Gabriel will be able to stay ahead of him in the order for very long. And he'll have the benefit of a solid top-10 defense and a stable HC situation with some credible weapons at his disposal. He just has to bear down and learn the offense and learn some humility for a season.

also, as an aside, I don't see him having a weak arm. He doesn't have a cannon, but I watched maybe 5-6 games of his while he was at CO and he threw some 40-50 yd bombs with good accuracy in there. More than enough arm to play in the NFL, if guys like Tua, cousins, hurts, Goff, Lawrence, Dak and Purdy are any examples.

Yo Murphy. 04-26-2025 02:56 PM

Some people are starting to say the moon is made of Swiss cheese. I don't subscribe to this line of thinking but nevertheless some are saying it. So the question is simple. If the moon were made of Swiss cheese would the browns draft shadeur sanders in the 5th.

It’s got to help that he now has far less pressure on him to be an instant effective starter than if they had taken him as a top 5 pick and the way draft week played out just might help him mature and develop character.

What'll be more interesting by the end of the season is seeing just how many of those other QBs actually perform that were taken before him, particularly in the 1st/2nd rds. If most of them shit their pants, which is actually mathematically probable, and Shadeur has himself a decent season somehow, or has a good season next year, a lot of GMs are going to look like idiots, lol.

A decent season? The guy is going to be holding a clipboard and fetching Gatorade.

They always thought Cleveland was a very real possibility and honestly it works...Sanders limitations aren't an issue in Stefanski's scheme.

He needs Sanders to process fast, be tough and accurate that's what he's good at.

Honestly Cleveland killed this weekend.

Any doubt that Haslem forced this pick?

They look like hostages in this video.

Sanders averaged 3.18 to throw the ball last year. He's gonna have to speed that up in the NFL or he's gonna get killed. Not saying he can't be pretty good but he's definitely gonna have to change a few habits.

The Steelers got Will Howard in the seventh round. I bet he’s happy.
