Gut feeling on Toney hasn't changed. We got good stuff from him but it will be short lived. SB hero for sure but not a long term guy here.
|
James was not a bum for the Giants so that tool can suck it and Toney got a ring. He did pretty good. With that being said Andy's love affair with Toney will be over if he drops a few more balls. He better shape up and play better or his career will be over.
|
He was getting open. He just had the yips.
Kadarius Toney led all WRs last night in average separation on his routes ran. He was averaging 3.1 yards of separation. It shows he was creating space and getting open. |
Quote:
He was open a lot. And with plenty of separation. He just didn't hang onto the ball. And he's had a couple poor games before in that department, but nothing on this level. Not even close. His worst previous performance was 50%, so basically he was MVS for a day. I think KT will be fine. And if he doesn't get sorted, well, he only cost KC a 3rd and a 6th, right? |

And imagine the defense trying to keep up with him if Kelce had been playing? |
Andy Reid rehabilitated a dog killer. If he can't fix Toney's drop problems he's a lost cause.
|
Come to think of it, he DID look kinda lazy on that SB punt return.

The hot takes in this thread are going to age well.
The guy dropped a couple passes. In case you don't remember, Tyreek Hill was notorious for this shit. Tyreek absolutely screwed us in a game against the Bills with tip drill Hill antics. I wonder why Andy Reid's let's say eh....questionable decisionmaking isn't getting eviscerated as badly as KT. 3rd down in a football game with a sputtering offense and he takes the football out of Patrick Mahomes hands and places it in Blake Bell's instead. What? Repeatedly slamming his head against the wall handing off to Clyde on first down. If you want to run on first down, PACHECO. Pacheco, Andy. For ****S sake. How many times do we need to see Clyde put us behind schedule? To me, this is MORE egregious, because it's literally been happening for years. Why can't this legendary offensive mind convert "and 1" downs? Give me 3rd and 25 any day over and 1. It's embarrassing. It does explain though, why we didn't go for it on the 4th and shorts that led to field goals, because we simply cannot function in short yardage without looking like a reerun trying to **** a doorknob. Bottom line, if KT just swats his passes down we win. But a better job managing the previous quarters of football, we aren't even in this position to start with. Shockingly, on a team that was not ready to come out and play championship football, it was the defense minus greedy **** 95 that was by far the most impressive. Holding the Lions to just 14 points on offense was not something I expected. |
"I think it's time y'all dropped it".

Tell me, how many drops did he have last season? Not the percent, the raw number? |
Kadropius Phoney?

The G-Spots had 3 of the top 4 drop WR's?
That's hilarious. ROFL |

Toney had (obviously) a bad game. But he was targeted on a huge percentage of plays and if he makes any of those catches we win. I think he bounces back. I’ve seen the talent.
Skyy Moore? Not so much… |

After revisiting my man’s plays from various angles, I’ve come to the conclusion that he’s not broken. Only two were true drops. On one play he couldn’t see the ball because a crossing receiver blocked his view. The last one was thrown behind him. Still should be caught by an NFL receiver, but not an easy play. Then you have the bobble that was intercepted. No excuse for that one. But….don’t forget that fan favorite Tyreek pulled that about 7 times in one season.

It's less about putting them 5th in power rankings and telling us it's another team's year, because everyone knows that's just silly now. It's a Patriots level, we're so tired of watching this team in the AFCCG every year and there's no a ****ing thing we can do about it. And on top of that, each meme fuels Petty Pat. Let him feed.

What a fantastic few days in sports… pic.twitter.com/YlFeH3PmEo
— NFL Memes (@NFL_Memes) September 10, 2023
 |

I think Toney is going to be all right. There's no question about his ability, he just needs to get over the yips and stay healthy. One big game or just a game without any mistakes and he'll be right.

KT, we’ve got the trash talk situation covered as we continue to douse Giants fans in their 40-0 dumpster fire… just focus on catching the football.

Stop with the childish back and forth and concentrate on perfecting your craft |
These quick twitch midgets aren’t designed for beating zone. They’re man beating players.
Short armed players will drop more passes and have a smaller radius. The problem is Reid’s reluctance to play new guys (our taller wrs) —- and our two new defensive tackles also. Kelce, ross, and rice are likely our best zone beating recievers Taller guys are also more protected from monsters hits that players will often get while catching in zone holes. Kelce is a pro at almost never getting hit hard. A master at avoiding punishment. |
Andy Reid took the blame today for playing KT.
|
They're asking much more of Toney this year from a route responsibility perspective and it very clearly got him thinking too much. It's hard to be explosive when you're confused about where you're supposed to be. I'll bet he's in more of a gadget role next week to try and get his confidence back.

If a player is dropping balls or forgetting his routes it should be evident in practice. Not in an nfl game that involves millions of dollars being exchanged. |

While I get Toney wanting to take a jab back at the fans who were giving him shit when they went out a laid an egg, perhaps he still should have realized that doing so was going to replied to with people reminding him that his actions, multiple actions, lost the game for his team.
So maybe he should focus on remembering how to catch a ball and not play around on social media. |

I'm usually not big on somebody doing a lot of trash talk and calling that attention, but in KT's case it's kind of funny. The Giants aren't a rival of ours, they're just a rival of HIS. And him just declaring war on the entire city of New York for trading him is pretty hilarious. And it's maybe even better that he jumps their ass even when he himself had a terrible game this week.
|

Evidently it was not evident in practice. |
Just a reminder that KT had a more productive week 1 than Tee Higgins and Drake London. Ziiiiing.

This. I'm concerned that Toney's spending any time on social media after the performance he put on tape a few days ago. He should be thinking, "I'll do my talking from now on with my play, and keep my mouth shut." And besides his health concerns, ultimately, it's his mental/emotional stability that are the real issues for him and his career going forward. To reach his potential, he's going to have to work on his craft, and be as mentally/emotionally strong as possible. This nonsense isn't helping him at all. I had some hope he would turn a new page towards real maturity when he deleted his social media account. Short lived I guess. |
Would you guys relax? He probably got on the 'gram and made a quick post while he was taking a shit. jesus.
