Looking forward to seeing what they can do with him next year. Great addition.

I did see him break down in the confetti.

I’ll admit I was worried about his attitude, but he definitely wanted this and it most certainly mattered.

Hats off to the kid. Hope he can get his body right.

I mean do you want to play for shitty Patriots way Joe Judge? I have a feeling that the Giants will be on the ass end of a lot of those one score games they won this year next year. Just like the Raiders were this year.

I mean, it’s Daboll now and you can probably say he’s also a Brother****ing Cheatriot ****bag. I certainly wasn’t enthused when he was our OC. But Daboll seems to be well liked. Maybe hes an ass. I think there is certainly a case for it in Toney.

ThaVirus 02-13-2023 09:39 AM

He was lit.

His walk-in TD, the forced 3 and out, huge punt return, then Skyy’s walk-in TD were incredible moments. An awesome sequence of events. We’re like an avalanche when we get going.

I feel like that all happened within like a 3-4 minute timeframe. We went from down 6 to up 8 in the blink of an eye.

I would guess that Joe Judge regime and the training and medical staff had more to do with Toney needing a fresh start.

I don't think Giants FO is thinking he could have helped them this year.

Daboll comes off like one of those coaches that if you aren't 100% bought into what he's selling...he doesn't want you on his team.

Reid gets you to buy in by letting you be yourself.

Lotta great blocks there, but Fortson's was the key to turning the corner.

Dude when he was juking on that punt return I thought he dislocated his knees three times. Dude's got like stork legs! Like they were bending backwards and sideways several times.

ToxSocks 02-13-2023 10:32 AM

He's a truly special, unique, gifted talent. Man, wish we could count on him to stay healthy. He'd do amazing things in this league, on this team, if he could.

Hope he works with Patrick's trainer this offseason.

Hoover 02-13-2023 10:35 AM

I think working with the Chiefs medical team will really help him stay on the field. Dude is an exciting player. You have to feel great seeing he and Skyy come up big in the biggest game.

LOLOLOLOLOL me

Kemp took out at least three would-be tacklers on that play.

Skyy God 02-13-2023 02:49 PM

Hand to God, I told my buddy (party host) that Skyy was going to house that return.

It was Toney and he almost scored, but I was mostly right. We had the momentum.

I kept replaying and trying to work out who was paving the way. Kemp and Fortson were blowing guys up.

Veachy firing up the hype train.

Chiefs GM Brett Veach said "I don’t know if there is a limit on [Kadarius Toney's] game because he has a vertical game."

“It’s a fair question to [ask]: ‘Has he ever played with a quarterback that likes to push the ball down the field?’ We have a lot of high hopes for him. He was a first-round pick for a reason. There’s a reason why we traded for him and we felt like he was first-round talent," Veach continued. The Chiefs added Rashee Rice in the draft but did not add the kind of high-target JuJu Smith-Schuster replacement that would keep Toney from blossoming in Kansas City's passing game. Toney will, yet again, be a WR3 pick with a lot of upside in 2023 drafts.

A lot of people seemed surprised that the chiefs would see him as wr1. Other than durability he has all the traits.

Well, tbh, durability is something that most true #1's possess. He has to prove that he can get through the majority of the season injury free to be able to grab that title, IMO. I'm looking forward to watching that happen in 2023-24.

That's just the thing, though.

"Other than durability" with Toney seems to be probable, not just possible.

That's the only thing holding him back but it's a pretty BIG thing.

You don’t get a potential WR1 on a cheap contract for a 3rd without some risk.

Right thats the big thing, but he has all the other traits to build a game plan around. The Chiefs obviously think they can overcome the soft tissue injuries or they probably dont trade for him. So its no surprise that they would view him as their number 1. If they didnt they would probably have been more aggresive in the draft to move up.

Of course not. That's not what I'm saying.

We got a POTENTIAL #1 for next to nothing.

Now it's time for him to actually realize that potential. The risk here isn't the trade - it was always low-to-no risk.

The risk now is depending on him for 17+ games. And you have to admit, it's a big risk.

RealSNR 05-08-2023 09:07 AM

Is there an example of an NFL player who "learned" how to protect his body better against these pulls and strains on his muscles and ligaments?

The only example I can think of is Keenan Allen, who ended up having a nice streak of 4, 5, 6 years or whatever of healthy play after constantly getting dinged up initially, but I think those injuries were more freak accidents and less about his sharp quick turns as a tall WR putting stress on his hamstrings and such. I don't think the situations are really comparable.

It may just be that he's Percy Harvin for us. When he's here, then great, we've got a killer playmaker. When he's not, we're just going to have to know how to win without him, because there will probably be several games and weeks when he's not in the lineup. Which... yeah, that can be frustrating, but for a 3rd round pick? I'll put up with that shit. I think most NFL teams would. Except the dumbass Giants.

I think the Percy Harvin comparison is pretty spot on. Injured guys just seem to stay injured.

BossChief 05-08-2023 09:32 AM

I’m sure they have the ideal training schedule in place for Toney to help with his soft tissue stuff. As long as he’s healthy in January/February we’re adding to that trophy case.

Yeah. I’ve been calling him Percy Harvin since we got him. It’s the easiest and most accurate comp.

Hammies can be a real bugger, some guys are just wired tight and it's not that easy to resolve. We're going to have to take the rough with the smooth. Definitely worth the trade

3rds are Lucas Niang, Nnadi, etc.

Very low risk, high reward move. Not really arguing much, tho.

Plus already helped us win a SB.

I gotta think if Van Damme can do this, more could be done to reduce Toney's hamstring issues.

I thought his last injury was his ankle in the playoff, but I could me wrong.
He broke so many other people's ankles it's hard to make the distinction in my memory.

Playoff injury was an ankle.

He's had shoulder problems too.

No, i don't think you can narrow it down to say, "Just Hammy" or "just lower body".

I know it doesn’t make any sense taking the ball out of Mahomes’s hand, but I’m hoping that Toney gets an opportunity to do a reverse pass option this year. His arm looks pretty good when he was a quarterback in high school.

Between the punt return, the Corn Dog catch, and alerting PM2 on Skyy’s TD catch, KT was a huge part of the SB win.

Admittedly, it also runs through my mind when I'm lying in bed.

Read some of their comments and they think it worked out well for them because they got the oft injured Waller.

SHOWTIME 07-11-2023 11:43 AM

Somebody needs to tell Toney to just shut up. He’s not going to last long in KC if he keeps this up. Andy Reid won’t put up with it. He’s replaceable.

Barring catastrophic injury, he's going to last through his rookie contract at the very least.

Some people can't handle social media. This is kind of a meltdown. Just delete twitter and instagram man you will feel better almost immediately

also some Giants fan threatened to kill him

Chieftain 07-11-2023 11:55 AM

Toney is becoming a distraction. Chiefs don't like distractions. Guy needs to keep his mouth shut and focus on preparing for the new season. Chiefs will not hesitate to replace him if he continues to be a nuisance. We aren't the Bufalololo Bills.

RealSNR 07-11-2023 11:59 AM

Lol take it easy guys. Toney does need to be reeled in, but Andy has done it before. Barring some pretty heinous behavior, team is going to continue to take full advantage of his rookie deal. Being annoying on Twitter doesn't count.

He looks weak here but so do these weirdo Giants fans in his DMs.

Imagine feeling like you did something because you spent a couple hours talking shit to a guy who just won the Super Bowl and will earn a few million dollars over the next couple years..

It's been like 10 minutes during the offseason.

I think you might be the only one who has been distracted by this.

Get back to your TPS reports*.

*Did you get the memo about the cover sheet?

TribalElder 07-11-2023 01:33 PM

Not sure why he even acknowledges the Giants fans in the first place

he should just auto-reply with a pic of his super bowl ring

dlphg9 07-11-2023 01:42 PM

Better than Honey Badger talking shit to fans of this team.

Eleazar 07-11-2023 01:48 PM

What kind of a loser DMs a championship professional athlete, as a nobody fan of a loser franchise, and calls *him* a loser?

There's punching down and then there's coming down from orbit
