It’s a shame that Kirk is going to let them down.

You aren't very smart.... I think that is obvious to anyone. The Cardinals released Suggs to clear a roster spot as they weren't making the playoffs. This allowed them to activate and look at talent for next year. If they were in playoff contention, Suggs would still be there contributing as his stats showed he was doing all year...

Think about that for a moment. Not good. But let's hope Watkins stays healthy and our o-line provides enough time for Pat to find Sammy more often to open it up for the rest of our receivers especially for Hill to lose those double teams.;)

Royals went to the WS in 2014 and lost but wound up winning it in 2015 so i think we are knocking down that door.

Last year was Mahomes first run and got within a defensive offsides to keep us out of the Super Bowl.

Mahomes has another year of battle proven experience to get the job done.

jerryaldini 01-05-2020 01:25 PM

Sucks to be a football fan in Houston. They peaked with Jerry Glanville lol. Mahomes and Hill will school the Oilers like Montana and Davis in 93, except it won't be close after the 1st quarter.

BossChief 01-05-2020 01:27 PM

The only way KC loses is if they beat themselves.

Houston doesn’t have the talent to beat KC.

Pretty sure there were like 15,000 bills fans at the game yesterday.

Chiefs fans do this every year they brag about being world beaters and yet they always are sitting at home crying and saying WAiT till next year. As for Mahomes having another year of battle proven experience couldn't you say that about every QB in the playoffs dumbass!

Megatron96 01-05-2020 01:31 PM

The Texans are led by the incredibly obtuse Billy O' Brien, and that alone gives us quite an advantage.

Watson can be great, and awful in the same game, though obviously not as wildly inconsistent as Josh Allen. But it's also obvious that the Texans offense is not as explosive without Fuller.

The key to HOU is their defense. Up front, they can't generate any kind of consistent pass rush with their down linemen. They have to manufacture pressure by bringing LBs/S/CBs. That means their secondary was to play really well short-handed when they blitz. This is the type of situation Pat feasts on.

Also, the Texans defense is one of the worst in the league in the RZ, one of the worst on 3rd down, and one of the worst against the pass overall.

And those tendencies were on full display yesterday.

To wit: the Texans defense gave up the most yards of the four teams that played on Saturday, 425. Their secondary gave up 264 yards to the 22nd best offense that only averaged 201 yards passing for the season.

And their rushing defense isn't any better. On the season they gave up an average of 121 yards/game, but yesterday they gave up 172 yards on the ground to the Bills.

In fact, when you look at the game stats overall, such as first downs, 26-19 in BUF favor, and total yards, 425 vs. 360 again in the Bills' favor, HOU should've probably lost yesterday's game. The Texans only won because Josh Allen is a turnover machine.

The reality is that combined with Andy's 'bye week' success, this game probably won't even be close. The Chiefs will probably be up by at least two scores going into half-time, and then our defense will simply strangle Billy's stumbling offense in the fourth. I wouldn't be surprised if the Chiefs are up by as much as 4 scores by the start of the fourth.

Hopkins plays big in big games and to think he as played big most of his career with scrub QBs up until Watson(of which the jury is still out for me on Deshon believe it or not) is still amazing. This guy has theeee best hands and is every bit as good as OBJ.

Hopkins is super frustrating to watch though, he tries to physically maul the DBs, he pushes, grabs even going so far as to headslap at times then if you barely touch him he flips out to the ref.

Why are you here? Troll job? Attention seeking? Want to talk football, have a take that adds value to the conversation. Otherwise gtfo.

Texans are the one team I wanted to see the least of the 3 possibilities because they pose matchup issues especially with Fuller in and Thornhill out. Mahomes and our fire power on O, combined with our improved D should be enough to prevail, but it will be a battle. In the end I have the Chiefs by 4 in a game that wasn’t as close as the final score.

Excuse me, what?

Didn't that rookie DEN QB light you guys up 22-27, 309 yards and 3 TDs? That DEN team that didn't score a single TD against us this season in two tries?

And didn't you guys lose to the PANTHERS rookie QB as well, allowing that scrub to throw for 232 yards on 24-34 attempts for a 89.3 Passer Rating, while Watson could only manage 160 yards and a meager 75 passer rating?

The Chiefs may have played some weak opponents in our division, but at least we didn't LOSE to crappy rookie QBs, while your defense made those guys look like Joe Montana.

This thread went south fast. Chiefs fans freaking out about having to play a good Houston team in KC, and a Texans troll acting like his team somehow has bragging rights because they finally won a playoff game, albeit one they probably should’ve lost.

The playoffs aren’t supposed to be easy people. Houston is a good team with a dangerous QB, but as long as we don’t make meaningful mistakes, the Chiefs should win because we’re a better team with a more dangerous QB. But hey, that’s why they play the game; you just never know. But I like our chances and Vegas does too.

Exactly.

They will take the field terrified of our offense and our defense is going to make Watson look like a rookie. Especially if O’Brien comes out having Watson take 5 and 7 step drops on long developing plays.

Our DL is going to eat and the secondary will feast on noodle armed quick passes.

How do you really know that you are the better team? You play in a lousy division. What if you were in their division and they beat your butt earlier in the season.

Seriously? These Texans just gave up 425 total yards of offense to the Bills.

You know what the Bills average offense this season? 330. 23rd in the league.

We're going to put at least 500 yards on that defense.

Not scared. Not sure why anyone would be at this point. The only way the chiefs lose is to beat themselves. It's possible, but doesn't have anything to do with the opponent.

Houston had the worst red zone defense in the league this year allowing opponents to score TD 70% of the time

Meanwhile we were tied for 8th best

Seriously? These Texans just gave up 425 total yards of offense to the Bills.

You know what the Bills average offense this season? 330. 23rd in the league.

We're going to put at least 500 yards on that defense.

The Bills would have beat the Chiefs. Chiefs defense would not have been able to handle Josh Allen. And Bills defense is no slouch dummy. As far as I can tell you didn't even play them this year.

The playoffs are a different animal.

Their D looked good yesterday.

You realize we have one of those too, right?

Seriously, ban this ****ing pillowbitergot for the playoffs. He’s going to be an obnoxious drama queen. He was unbearable in the WC thread yesterday.

Clay, this is no time to lose your nerve.

Start working on some videos on how the Chiefs kicked the shit out of the Texans, ending their season AGAIN!

Honestly the only reason why anyone would worry about this game is because of KCs playoff history. This is a different team and they are better than the Texans and should win relatively easily.

Go home, little boy. Your mommy needs you to take out the trash or something.

Something else to consider is that Watson and most of the Texans have played the majority of their games in great weather. Mahomes has seen the weirdest conditions imaginable this season. If Kansas City has any hint of weather, this could make the game interesting. Going to be a little harder for Watson to throw those prayer balls in wind. Those hits on QB runs are going to sting extra hard in cold weather.

The chiefs have just as much to prove if not more than the Texans given their prior performances at home in the playoffs. Houston receivers wont drop those TD passes this time around and will win in a landslide.
