A couple of factors to consider in regards to him.
1. When he signed his last contract he was the highest paid CB in the league. He has lived up to that, but is unhappy because he no longer is the highest paid in the league, or even on his team (pretty sure he would not have been saying what he was saying had he not performed at that salary). He wants to be paid top of the market and if we traded for him he would cost a premium in picks and salary. 2. While we could pay him with Clark's money when we inevitably cut him, which is easier to replace in the draft? Clark or Howard? We could reasonably only pay one. |

Here the only question we need to ask.
How does he help us match up better on TB to help us beat them in the Super Bowl rematch? That’s literally all that matters. |

If they are confident in Ward matching up effectively in a huge game with Mike Evans, we don’t need to make a massive investment into a guy like Howard (most likely losing first and second rounders and a big chunk of cap space). They are 4 deep at WR with high quality guys and Gronk scored twice on our defense.
I’d argue that adding a guy like Howard is worth the exchange of compensation, but I may be wrong. |
Evidently 2 playoff teams are talking to Miami about a trade.
With us only having Sneed, Fenton and Keyes under contract after this year I’d be willing to bet we are one of them. |

When we go to nickel defense, Mike Hughes is one of our outside corners when we’re fully healthy. I doubt Veach is fully comfortable with Hughes or Baker consistently matching up with Evans, Godwin, Brown and Miller. Especially with the chance we may not have Clark helping apply pressure. I could be wrong…but I think Veach will see if he can get a deal struck with Miami that makes sense for both teams if for nothing else than to raise the price for another playoff team. |
I’m all for Howard but we did pretty damn good against their wide outs boss, the tight ends killed us and running backs. Thornhill was hurt in the afccg and only played like 22% of the SB. That’s a big part of our problem and pass rush.

No likey. Not necessary.
- the transmission could go out of the car or furnace exploded. |

I understand that, and it is a good point- but he Would help in the Playoffs. So that is why you make the trade. Our CB room would suddenly look like a strength. |

AP seems especially cringe lately. The lab guys are decent and since they left its like theyre trying to compensate.

HB says Hughes can play. Caveat here that he’s always had talent but has been injury-prone.
“He’s been growing ever since his first day at OTAs,” Mathieu said of Hughes, who joined the Chiefs in May via a trade from the Minnesota Vikings. “You can see him understanding the scheme, understanding the players that he’s working with. It’s important for him to continue to take these next couple weeks to get better within the scheme. He has enough talent. I think the guy can play.” |
Thank you Tyrann!! Now please drag Veach by his nuts to your agent and let’s get you extended

I know Howard said he was unhappy with his situation but has there been interest or is this hype and speculation? I can't find anything that KC wants to pursue Xavien

I would 1000000% take Xavien in KC. Would be nice to have a top cb back in kc. Man those ****in dirty ass refs man that still irks me.. just call the game evenly |

We dont need defensive backs. Our young guys are going to ball.
|
Excluding the reality of having to pay him, Howard would a great addition/replacement for Breeland. An upgrade, mostly.
|
I would like it, if nothing else it’s amazing depth add. Upside being a borderline lock down corner.
|
We were in the race for Ramsey before he went to LA and Peterson has been linked with us several times. I hope Veach and co ate taking a serious look at this because it really could transform our defense.
|
Hard pass. This front office can clearly find DB talent. Save that money for HB and potentially Orlando Brown. We are still going to need help on the DL - especially after Clark is gone.

How about now?

I want to draft this guy

Interesting enough to keep track considering the dumpster fire at CB2 |
He was smart to not sign with the sinking Bungholes.
Bring him in for a look. |
Cannot be worse than what we are trotting out there. ****ing sign him.
|
He would have to come at a real discount. But sometimes that happens. That’s what Hollywood Brown did.just too bad he got injured.

Humphries is our last signee barring injuries. This is it. This is the team.
|
Howard is a crafty ballhawk. Maybe some of that could rub off on our younger and less crafty DBs. On the field mentor? In Veach I trust.
|
I would like to think having the potential to win ring would appeal to him. Hope Veach is on the phone because Howard would definitely help this secondary. Having a liability like Johnson out there is unsettling the defense imo.
|
Assuming Howards price is too high. He's had little interest. That or he just might be cooked. Speed was a big part of his game.
|
1. Over 30 at a speed reliant position
2. Nagging lower body injuries 3. Significant fall off in play the last two seasons. 4. Diva 5. Allegedly sent a teenager naked pictures of the kid’s mom. Just kick the tires on the CB the Vikes released instead. |

It was a very crass and ridiculous thing to do. But it shouldn't exclude him from being signed imo. |

He ain’t worth the baggage guys. Especially with how cooked he was with the lower body injuries last year. |

I know what the stats said about Nazeeh Johnson yesterday, but the eye test said he is still STRUGGLING. Not sure why Joshua Williams doesn't get any playing time at this point.
On Xavien...I would love about any veteran CB at this point, but would rather have Desmond King over Howard. |

Since we’re playing fantasy football, I’d like PP. not as fast as he once was, but solid fundamentals smart CB, without the baggage. Would also make a great mentor for the young guys.
