I commented on an Acolyte thread and now this shit is all over my social media. I don’t mind an arc if it pushes a story forward. But to force a narrative to build an audience at the expense of long time fans is simple hubris. I personally don’t care about a character’s sexual or gender identity. A character’s romantic interest doesn’t need to explicitly shown. A good actor, writer, and director team can show an intimate relationship without the characters ****ing.

Lucas Film need to just focus on the story. I still consider Andor to be the standard. Unfortunately, it’s the peak.

Hollywood was boring and stale. Joyless, almost.

Star Wars not only revolutionized the technology, it brought FUN back to movies.

It was also somewhat of a revolution in terms of a return to using orchestral composers for big, bold soundtracks.

People are still trying to make CGI look as good as some of the model shots looked in the original trilogy.

Remember, the company that did ALL the SFX for Star Wars is STILL doing SFX for hundreds of movies a year.

I'm not sure I understand the hate that Episode 7, 8, and 9 get. Those are the best 3 stars wars movies I've ever watched. Even though it was a classic for it's time the original trilogy is ****ing garbage.

I watched Revenge of the Sith because it's getting a little bit of a bump of late. People are trying to argue for it as being worthy of consideration for the 2 slot in the franchise - maybe even the 3.

Nah. Not getting there.

The CGI battle scenes are really bad. The slapstick stuff with the droids.

You just cannot say enough about how much the movies suffer when they get away from practical effects. For most of those scenes it felt no different than watching a really long version of the animated series.

Now unlike many of the movies, there were some incredible moments in Sith -- I'll give it that. But there's still just too much shite mixed in along the way. I think the main problem was situating Grevious as the secondary antagonist ahead of Dooku. Christopher Lee brought some real gravitas to the role and then they just kill him off 10 minutes into the movie and you end up with this stupid gravely robot thing with lousy CGI as the secondary villain for the next 1/3 of the movie. They should've found a way to flip that around.

Really wish there was a directors cut of Revenge of the Sith. There's a **** ton of cut content that would've made the movie much better (also 5 hours long).

3 more hours of CGI battle scenes and slapstick droid humor wouldn't have improved the final product.

The stuff that got cut was probably hot trash.

Eh, Grievous WOULD'VE been at least a neat spectacle but apparently Lucas decided to make him way more of a joke than originally planned.

The issue for that movie isn't even the story, though.

The story is fine. Oh sure, it could be better, but it was good enough for a damn good movie. As good or better than Empire and Empire was still great.

It was the execution. They just told the story poorly. The visuals are awful. The performances by the actors range from awful (Christensen) to indifferent (Jackson). It was even McGregor's worse performance (though again, he has some fantastic moments).

It was just really poorly made. Adding more story to it wouldn't have changed that -- it would've been like giving Skyy Moore additional snaps. At a point, you're just adding volume to the suck -- not improving upon it.

If JJ Abrams had directed and produced George's PT scripts and George Lucas had written JJ's ST scripts we would have had much better movies.

Finished S1 of Fallout.

They didn't really stick the landing as much as I'd hoped they would. Especially for a show that didn't know if it was going to get a second season.

It felt very rushed and a bit contrived. I dunno -- I realized with 2 episodes left that they had a long way to go and a short time to get there.

Still give it a B+ -- really entertaining show. But I think they could've done the ending a little better. I guess given the fact that S2 was given the go ahead, they did everything right and set it up well for the future.

Sam Witwer is returning to voice Maul. Excellent. I think it was Katee Sackhoff (maybe?) that said Sam is the only person to out-nerd Dave Filoni with his deep cut knowledge of Star Wars that she'd ever come across. Like, small minute details over occurrences and timelines that even Filoni skipped over, and Filoni's reaction was pretty hilarious when he realized Witwer was correct.

I've always held out hope that he'd get to play Starkiller in a live action show, or even an animated one, but that likely will never happen, unfortunately.

I didn't realize The Hound got the role.

That should be a good transition. He can handle that quiet/thoughtful menace thing that made Skoll such a fascinating character.
