In his only truly good season he was a product of the best pass-blocking OL in football by a LOT and he was still a dunk and dunk artist.

Dude is in the bottom 1/3 of NFL quarterbacks and very probably the worst QB in the division. Carr isn't good. He's not gonna be good. The absolute best case scenario for him is that Gruden is a wizard that masks is deficiencies in a similar manner to Weiss hiding Cassel' awfulness for a year.

Again - the guy was a dink and dunk artist even in his 'ascending' years. Now he's feeling phantom pressure and will almost certainly never have the kind of line that made him so comfortable in 2016 again. He doesn't have any stand out physical skills and he's regressed in his accuracy.

Now that said - while it may not end up reflected in their sack figures, their ability to push the pocket back will still make things uncomfortable for QBs. Rushes straight up the middle into a QBs lap will wreck plays more often than not.

I hate all things raider but for some reason I guess I just liked this guy. He seems nice and there is a non-raider quality about him that he is a genuinely cool guy.....truly this might sound corny but I dont think the chiefs win the superbowl without a VERY VERY tough afc west. I totally disagree with this. The Oakland offensive line is still VERY good. They allowed hardly any pressure all night, especially when you consider who they were going up against. Most of Carr's mistakes (and all of his interceptions) were unforced, and had nothing to do with poor protection or poor skill position play.

When the chiefs play them, I bet you'll see a similar defense as last year's opener against New England, where Houston and company dropped back into those passing lanes and punished the hell out of the NE receivers on those cheap crossing (pick) routes.

The damage is already done/started. His contract is what kept them from keeping Mack, their best player that is damn near impossible to replace.

And QB money is QB money. There’s a reason that us and the Bengals struggled to put enough talent around those two to actually win in the playoffs with them.

If Carr has a clean pocket and doesnt hear footsteps he is phenomenal. The second he hears footsteps or his pocket starts getting crowded he gets happy feet, fear and pisses himself. If Gruden can`t fix him this year, Carr will be gone before next season. In fact Carr`s contract is front loaded so they wont even take much of a cap hit if Carr is gone next year.
