Alex has three concussions now, all in the last four years (2012 and two this year now)

He is at high risk for further concussions due to his age and playing style. He will be more and more likely to take big hits because he's clearly slowing down now.

Alex isn't done, but he's very, very close to being done.

Foles is a relative unknown with a much larger chance of being a productive QB for the next five years for this team. You need to see what you have in him to make your decision: go with Foles, or go after a guy in the draft.

Nick Foles should be the starter. You have nothing to lose, because Alex is almost done, and the offense sucks with him anyway.

As I've said all along...we're just wasting time with Alex Smith.

GoFoles.

Yes sir. I'm not a bandwagner like someone who shall not be named lol. Alex is that good dude you can just easily root for due to circumstances , but I enjoy strong play from the QB and a QB with fire. Alex will get his chance back under center and he needs to show that fire he did earlier. KC is starting to gel and finally using Hill - great playmaker.

John Dorsey deserves much more credit than he gets around here for his drafting ability. I've got a friend and colleague who is absolutely nuts for the 9ers. She makes very good money and flies into San Fran for every game from Vegas. Season tickets, the whole nine yards. May you rid your franchise of Jed York and Trent Baalke as fast as possible. I have no hate for the 9ers on any level. Get back to kicking the shit out of my hometown team, the Seattle Seahawks as quickly as possible. ;)

Nick Foles does hold the record for most TD passes in a game with 7.

Actually I don't think they are.

If you sit him out a couple weeks, put him back in, he might not be the same guy. He's certainly going to start shying away from more hits, and for a guy who already loved running from clean pockets like his wife was splayed naked and wet on the sideline, that's really bad.

The offense was bad with Alex this year. They were 23rd in offensive scoring, and against one of the most butt-ugly defenses in the NFL today he generated three points other than the heavily defense-assisted score.

You can be bad with Alex and hope the D carries you, or put in Foles and hope for offensive improvement and maybe something really special. At the very LEAST you answer the question of your QB strategy going forward.

Or just stick with scrambled egg and playoff losses, and maybe even losing a playoff spot since it's uncertain how he'll perform after getting his head crushed twice.

In comparison to Baalke, Dorsey is a HOF level exec. lol I wouldn't spend a dime on the niners if I was her, York ****ed the team over 20x over. Seahags have our number.. they took our playstyle (defensively) drafting methods.. snagged our cut players.. and execute at a higher level. KC is one of my preferred teams to watch in the AFC.

Mr. Flopnuts 10-30-2016 03:22 PM

Nick Dynamite is this era's version of Rich Gannon. Only it didn't take 10 years to get him back in the game. He could be a 10 year starter for us. Or Alex could come back next week, sling it all over the place and we'll beat a really bad Jags team. Either way?

95% of this board loves what Dorsey is doing. People make that clear all the time. Not sure what else can be done. It's a lot easier to build threads discussing things that need to change. How many "Dorsey is amazing" threads do we need to make?

And there it is: you prove yourself a dumbass.

Smith has scores of games that prove he doesn't do much beyond the < 250 yards, and 1.3 TDs per game guy that refuses to take risks and will only go as far as the defense can carry him.

You touting of his playoff performances is ignorance: those are what are called "outliers", but you don't know that because you don't understand sample sizes or any other actual statistical measure.

Further, it's incredibly funny how you are crowing about how good he is in the playoffs on the basis of yards and TDs when he's lost more games than he has won in the postseason.

You know, wins? The only stat that matters?

Or does it not matter because pointing out a sub .500 postseason record casts a bad light on your mancrush?

Youre a hypocrite...

Whining about clay when the same thing happened to Cassel and people cheered... Where we you then asking for everyone to be banned?

I too, am eager to see Mr. Foles show us what he has.

New World Order 10-30-2016 03:39 PM

The Foles revolution is underway.

I wish they would go with Foles as there is no doubt in my mind we would get more td's if they did but we all know it won't happen this season.

Funny you should mention that. She's not a bandwagon type fan, but she HATES Baalke and York. Won't spend another dime until they're gone.

That is how I feel about the Niners right now. I will continue to watch every game but won't spend a dime as long as York runs the team. You guys are very lucky to have Dorsey.

My wife is a Chiefs fan so I watch a lot Chief games. They were a lot more fun to watch with Foles today. I think it had a lot to do with the Colts defense and them not gameplanning for him. But there is noway you bench Smith right now. He is a leader and have played well. Now if he starts shitting the bed, then yeah put Foles in.

Foles should start next week, let Smith get healthy. They should have never cleared him today, very dangerous

We had Cassel rammed up our asses for years. That was on Pioli.

I thought it was "thickening" myself....

Anyone celebrating Smith getting concussed is a douchebag.

I felt quite calm when Smith went down. Name another fan base that has that luxury.

Smith is and will be the starter, but picking up Foles was huge.
