Kind of a cool site that will run a sim simultaneous with the launch to show where it's at:
http://www.flightclub.io/world.php?watch=1&code=SES9 (Also note that the streaming links in the OP will always work.) |
Are they going to actually show the launch, or just play this creepy music?
LMAO |
Woohoo!
|
I actually kind of dig the hosted broadcasts. Sure, you miss some of the pre-launch polling, but I like that they explain some of the details about the launch.
Side-by-side view on SpaceXStats is pretty sweet, though. |

Yikes. I'm gonna guess it doesn't even make it to the ASDS, but guess we'll find out soon.

Damn. Wonder what happened.

Sounds like they're really struggling with the supercooled LOX. I hope that "improvement" doesn't end up being a giant pain the ass.

GDI , scrubbed.

(sigh) It's funny - watching rocket launches is not that dissimilar to watching sports when it comes down to it. Lots of waiting, a lot of minor disappointment, and every once in a while you feel like you got kicked in the nuts. |
I have to say that it cool that they over 80k viewers on the webcast. I like that people are showing this much interest.
|
The trouble is in keeping the LOX at the right temp. Too early and it's too warm. Too late and you miss a full load like today.

The rocket is like the Chiefs in the playoffs

I'm heading down there as we speak . Don't worry guys , I study Rocket science in my spare time. I'll get er launched.

The Heavy launches are great. Three rockets strapped together. Love the night launches, the whole sky lights up with an orange glow. |
Next attempt is Sunday evening.

Wonder why they haven't officially announced Sunday yet. Hope that holds.
As for the LOX issue, presumably they would have loaded it normally during the static fire, so I wonder if there's some reason that things aren't performing reliably the same way every time. I wouldn't think that external temperature variation would matter much, but who knows why else they would've just plain missed the mark. |
I also wonder how long a rocket can sit outside like that? Or will the bring it in?

The Range Support and ER Maintenance Downtime rows are driving me crazy. I can't even.

What don't you understand about this? |
Quote:
What do I not understand? Formatting. My god, why don't you know this? All rows should be of same height if the cell is less than 30 characters. If it is more than 30 character, look into reworking your cell content. No wonder jobs get outsourced. Much cheaper labor at least understands this basic data reporting rule. Go back to school. |

No new info, but tomorrow night is now confirmed:
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">SES and SpaceX are now targeting to launch <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/SES9?src=hash">#SES9</a> on Sunday, 28 February, at 6.46pm ET, with a backup date on Monday, 29 February!</p>— SES (@SES_Satellites) <a href="https://twitter.com/SES_Satellites/status/703634698237517824">February 27, 2016</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> |

Countdown aborted. Range issue. Apparently a boat inside flight range. If confirmed, perhaps they can launch still. But the LOX is warming.
No issues with the spaceship. New reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/spacex/comm...ssion_updates/ |
I'll bet the Chiefs win a SB before this thing gets launched
