Can't have it both ways. We are more likely to give Andy that carte blanche than the Bidwells. |

Kirk Ferentz is the Andy Reid of college football.

Well if that is it... it could just be that guy stating fact but kind of hurrying up the timeline a little?

LMAO
If anyone brings up Kirk Ferentz again on 610 unless Iowa is playing Mizzou, Kansas or K-State, they are getting hung up on. |
I've been getting the feeling over the last few years that no one, not even the biggest names in the biz, know anything substantial regarding any of these moves. Twitter has made being early on news 100 x more important than being right. I'm getting the feeling that many of these guys have no"sources, other than eachother.

One interview where the owner finally says some things the fans want to hear and all faith is restored in Chief fans. Everyone is optimistic. Any report of a 2nd or 3rd tier coaching candidate is dismissed as BS because KC is a GREAT place to play where the team is just a QB away from a dynasty.

Manning told Clark he wouldn't have worked with Pioli for ANY reason, including an extra $10M on a $100M contract. |
Ferentz would have been perfect to lead the 2010 team, when we had Weis running the offense and Romeo the defense. Ferentz could have led the team CEO style and would have been fine more than likely.
|
True but how many receptions did Westbrook have with those 177 carries? I'm not against Charles having 200 carries if he is getting 75+ receptions out of the backfield... we would still be getting him out in space.

Eric Edholm @Eric_Edholm
As I reported earlier this season, Scott Pioli DID sign extension this offseason, which might be hangup to why he's still with #Chiefs. |

The Chiefs need to give them a reason to think otherwise. |

Hire Pioli and made him highest GM
Hired hottest coaching prospect at the time Hired Crennel and Weis for 5 million per each the effort and money have been there ... it just didn't work out. money shouldn't be an issue with Reid, nor should power. |

JFC that explains why we are having a lot of this mess... Pioli did sign that extension and now we are trying to figure out how to get rid of him without having to pay him the full money.

Yeah, all those teams on the Northeast would cease to exist without the Chiefs. ROFL |

I hate Ian Rappaport, too. |

I'd say it seems pretty clear that Pioli signed an extension.

Out of all the coaches out there, I hope we get him.
He is aggresive to a fault. |

who the **** is eric edholm?
pretty hard to believe that Hunt would offer an extension and then fire 2 months later |
Eric Edholm @Eric_Edholm
Have not been able to confirm rumors that Pioli and Clark Hunt are negotiating a buyout/severance package but makes some sense. #chiefs |

Honestly, Charles has such good hands and such great HR ability, he's the perfect Andy Reid back. Charles would be an absolute stud under Reid getting about 15 carries/gm while also getting another 5-6 touches out of the backfield. Reid would be huge for Charles. Charles is the evolutionary version of Brian Westbrook. |

Clark extended Pioli after the disastrous 2011 season?
And people are happy that Clark is taking a more hands on approach?? |

That's almost as accurate as any assertion that Brian Westbrook never got more than 177 carries/season under Andy Reid. Stupid post is stupid. |

My only question mark with Reid is the defense. What DC would he bring in and what type of defense would he use?

j/k :D |
Of course it makes sense... if Pioli hadn't signed that extension he doesn't come out doing damage control when sh*t starts hitting the fan earlier this season and we also don't still have him in KC still. At this moment he is still here because Clark is trying to figure out how he is going to weasel his money away from paying Pioli. In the mean time he has pretty much castrated Pioli in KC.
Either at worst case Pioli stays in a role similar to what he had in New England or he is gone soon once we hire the next head coach that doesn't want him (has his own guy). |

was it 1-gap or 2-gap? |

Clark wants to get his name in the hat, sure, but Reid already made the decision to go there. I think it's a leverage deal. I don't think he us interested in KC he would have notified us. |
apparently Reid's wife is from Arizona, if thats the case, they have a HUGE HUGE advantage.

If he brings Bowles, that makes me really nervous. If Bowles comes in, we are running two gap. He is a parcells disciple. |
Clark,"Hello, Andy, we would like you to come to Kan......"
Reid,"Stop. Before you say anymore, is Pioli and Cassel still in KC?" Clark,"Well, um, as a matter of fact I am just about to execute both of them as we speak." Reid,"See you soon." |

DJ thanks for the bringing up the true Westbrook stats. That is more the stats I remembered and it would be perfect with Charles!
