I can't believe Bulaga is even considered Top 20 talent.
I'd be willing to look at him in Round 2 at the very soonest. |

The best OT in the draft is still on the board.

So if he's there the Cowboys have their replacement for The Hotel, eh?

Campbell is a freak who is very young and needs time. Davis has the most versatility and good tape but has the lazy rep and was kinda blah at the combine. Brown has no versatility and might be scheme limited but has outstanding upside as a pass blocker, it's what you prefer I guess. |
I think Bruce could be a good GB pick. He wouldnt have to play right away and it would provide the team with a long term answer to their franchise qbs blind side after Clifton hangs em up.
But there is still good value at other positions at this point that would give them more immediate bang and less bust potential. GB would be one of a handful of places that would be a good fit for him IMHO. |
Quote:
but they still have nothing at wr...mason will retire after this year, and boldin is frequently nicked up plus, i think they should be going deep more, almost raiders style to make the best advantage of Flacco's arm as opposed to dinking to the TE.... |
That team did sign Stallworth factor that in.

Baltimore is a BPA team, I think even though they have a need at CB, when this pick comes up it'll be Gresham or one of the pass rushers.
|
Just because you draft Gresham doesnt mean you have to dink and dunk.
A player like him would take a lot of underneath attention and would completely open up the deep stuff to the other receivers. He will be a matchup nightmare. Not to mention how much of an impact his attention would allow for the team to be devastating on delayed runs and screens. |

I'm pretty sure Dallas will take whoever the best OL on the board is.

OL or WR is about all I can see them taking...now if a safety or WR falls into their lap that they really like I could see them going there but the way this mock has gone I'd say OL.
|
You think Dallas would consider WR after such a substantial investment in the position recently?
I could see them taking OL or rushbacker, but I doubt they would go receiver. I think Jerry Hughes would be a slam dunk for them, but thats just my opinion if he falls to their pick. |
Both of their OLB's are first rounders, why would they take another one?
|
Just looked at Walter's list of needs for KC. LMAO.
Worth a look. http://walterfootball.com/offseason2010kc.php |

Jerry Hughes could take the defense to the next level imho. I could be wrong, but it is more likely that them drafting a wr after investing in Williams and presumably having to make another significant investment in Miles Austin. |

Well, I wish management would make it a little more difficult to do.

I think they are with the things they've all ready done this off-season. They still have a very long ways to go. This off-season is the true test to see if Pioli sinks or swims in KC. |

The Patriots sprint to the podium and take the biggest genetic freak in the entire draft. Campbell has amazing athletic ability, but he is extraordinarily raw. Fortunately, he has top 5 upside, and I only have to pay top 20 price for him. This makes it a far more palatable selection.
I'm honestly stunned that the Steelers did not draft this guy. Kyle Wilson was also in strong consideration for this pick, but I was strongly considering a 3-4 edge rusher, given that the Pats have nothing in that regard. I know the Pats spent a second on Vollmer last year, but I think that he can play either position, and seemed quite comfortable replacing Kaczur. This reminds me of the Oher pick of a year ago, simply based on the fact that this is a pure BPA pick, even though I have a solid young LT. The New England Patriots select Bruce Campbell, OT, Maryland. Mecca is ****ing pissed off, and on the clock (where I know who he'll take). |
I actually wasn't going to take Campbell, I feel Green Bay needs a player that can step in and play right now.
With that said the players I narrowed this pick to were the OT's Campbell, Davis and Brown, and the 2 rushers in Griffen and Kindle. I had always leaned pass rusher with this pick but Anthony Davis is to good to still be on the board, the tape says this guy should be a top 15 pick. Green Bay selects Anthony Davis, OT, Rutgers Filling a need with the best player on the board who is ready to play right now. |
Well this is obviously a no brainer for the Eagles. They need a DE and a S....all of the top 3 safeties are gone at this point and they just recently signed Marlin Jackson to compete at the FS position with Macho Harris.
The Philadelphia Eagles select Everson Griffin, DE, University of Southern California Some are saying that Griffin can stand up and rush the passer but a lot of people say that he's going to flourish as a 4-3 DE. So that's where the Eagles are going to stick him. He'll play opposite of Trent Cole in the Eagles 4-3. The Eagles would have loved for one of the top two DEs to fall to them....but it didn't work out that way. |
That's a logical pick, the Eagles value rushers so if he's there that's probably the pick.
|
Who's winning the draft so far?
|
Unlike Kansas City, Baltimore is in an unique position because they can go BPA and not go on need. At this pick, I looked at several options: CB from Florida State, DE from Florida, OLB from Texas or the following pick....
The Baltimore Ravens select Jermaine Gresham, TE, Oklahoma University, to be the heir apparent to replace Todd Heap. The Cardinals are on the clock. |
Gresham is a good pick there, that's where I'd have went too.

Baltimore loads up even more. If Flaaco can turn out, good grief.

This is a no brainer pick for the Cards though, it has to be 1 of 2 guys...

For a team that was in the SB two years ago, this club has serious needs at the most critical positions: QB, OT, NT, and OLB.
There isn't a QB or NT worthy of the selection at this point. Thus, there are two players atop the board: Charles Brown and Sergio Kindle. The latter is too talented, with impressive upside. Plus, he is a player who can make an immediate splash in this ****ing desolate place. AZ selects: Sergio Kindle, LB, Texas |
And you made the pick I would have made, nice job son.
I think that leaves this next pick as a basic no brainer... |
Pretty easy pick, the Cowboys decided to find the Hotel's replacement.
Dallas Cowboys select Charles Brown, OT USC |
So Ryan Matthews going off the board right now?
|
Well, I've got a no brainer coming up here as long as no one snatches him up.
|
Even with lots of good corners still in the draft, I figure the Chargers can get a decent one later in the draft.
The San Diego Chargers select Ryan Matthews, RB, Fresno State |
Time to build up the offense and help Sanchez take the next step.
The New York Jets select Golden Tate,WR,Notre Dame Posted via Mobile Device |
Sorry for my lack of bold. I'll fix it at work tomorrow.

Only way Clausen slides even down to Arizona is if he gets caught with a hooker, crack or something like that.

Personally I think that spot the Jets would take Jerry Hughes, Ryan loves pass rushers.

There I was, in my lavish leather chair, scarved in my velvet robe with man-slippers wobbling loosely on my toes. Manhattan in one hand, olive in tact, and The New Yorker in the other. I was packing my corncob pipe with tobacco and flipping between my two most prestigious television programs, "Jersey Shore" and DVR'd episodes of "Glenn Beck." I can't stand this socialist hellhole!, but I love me some reality TV zazz.
I was celebrating because I had just picked Taylor Mays for the Broncos, and I was fairly certain that the excellence of that pick would stun a team of oxen dead in its tracks. Its effect would be even more drastic with a pathetic gaggle of draftnik wannabes like yourselves -- I mean, I had won the ChiefsPlanet Mock Draft a fourth year in a row, a feat that's NEVER ONCE been accomplished in the history of mankind! I was getting a blowjob from a conga-line of Bronco fans, while serenading them with "we're going to beat the hell out of you, you you you..."! (Let's just say Donk fans will put up with anything if you get them a centerfield safety.) But I get a rude awakening in my PM box, which I was surprised to learn was not a congratulatory message on my Mock Victory. It was from Archie Bunker. APPARENTLY we're still doing this thing. I guess even Angola played the Dream Team all four quarters, right? Well get ready to get dunked on, bitches. The Vikes are up and they are PISSED. They can't BELIEVE they lost the NFC Championship to a team they outgained and outplayed. Roger Goddell won't even come out to announce their pick. No, wait, not even that. The entire starting DL has actually shown up and shoved him into Charlie Weis' lunchbox. The Vikings, finally armed with a premier Mock Owner, aren't even going to bother announcing anything. I'm just going to point to the player I want and the boys will storm the Green Room to steal him away. The decision shakes out to the two players that I believe are the best remaining on this board, both of them defensive tackles. Neither one will be able to aptly replace Pat Williams as a pure run-stuffer, but they can further bolster the defensive line and keep this team's defense better for longer. There are no cornerbacks or quarterbacks that I like here, and I actually dislike a shitton of the WRs I've seen this year. Maurkice Pouncey is an option to solidify the one OL position I think is shit on this team, but centers come and centers go; defensive line is forever. Odrick and Price are both penetrators in the mold of the other Williams brother, but in this case I think Odrick is the most adaptable. Odrick isn't a maxed out overachiever like Price is. Price is very limited to penetrating, Odrick has room to get even bigger than his 310 lbs body, and he can take a year while Pat plays his last year to get some of his anchoring down pat, which will naturally improve as he puts weight on. I like the upside in this guy, so this is the direction I'm going, to even further solidify my victory. The Minnesota Vikings select DT Jared Odrick, Penn State. |
That's not a bad pick but the Vikings have to heavily consider CB because of what happened to Griffin.
|
There are guys available that are higher on my draft board. The Colts are going to have the luxury of drafting BPA for most of this draft. They do have one need that just recently came up with the release of Ryan Lilja. We're going to address it right now with a very versatile lineman that will start off at G, and could easily end up replacing Jeff Saturday in the next couple of years.
With the 31st pick in the 2010 NFL Draft the Indianapolis Colts select Maurkice Poncey C from Florida. |
Ok guys.....I need *insert player's name here* to last 17 more picks.

I would've loved to snag Kyle Wilson as well. I just thought Pouncey made the most sense for them right now. |
New Orleans Saints select...DE from Florida, Carlos Dunlap.
|
The St. Louis Rams select Brian Price, DT, UCLA.
I really thought about a corner here, but the one who had real value to me, Robinson, seems to be too risky of a selection. He's the most physically talented corner in the draft, but he has serious character and motivational concerns and doesn't play up to his ability. Price was a monster in his three years at UCLA, particularly last year when he registered 7.5 sacks. If I'm Spagnuolo, I can't count on Adam Carriker for anything. He was hurt last year and in 2008 played like garbage as a 3 technique. His most productive year was his rookie year, when he played nose. Unforunately, this team has invested a lot of resources in DL, but none of them can rush the passer save for the decrepit Leonard Little. Getting Price here and putting him in at 3 technique will help out draft disappointment Chris Long, even if I think he's ideally suited as a left end. |
I've got 5 guys I'm targeting for the Hawks in the 2nd round and 6 people picking in front of me. Will at least 1 of them fall?
|
With the second pick in the second round of the 2010 Chiefs Planet Mock Draft the Detroit Lions select cornerback from Rutgers, Devin McCourty. He can help fill the void at corner and contribute on special teams.

Dunlap is a top 5 talent IMO. His off the field stuff hurt him. Hell of a pick for Nawlins.

The Bucs WR depth chart will make a man cry so I'm pretty happy this guy is available. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Arrelious Benn, WR, Illinois
|
The Chiefs are on the clock.
This next pick has to be a 3-4 DE......right? |
Glad Benn is off the board-I think he'll be a bust. Chiefs on the clock. Hope we pick a big tub of goo for a NT
|
Thank you. When drafting for a team like Detroit fixing the potential starting lineup is really foremost in my mind. That's why I took Okung and now went with McCourty over other players. By adding Corey Williams and KVB the Lions now can field a respectable starting defensive line. The same couldn't be said for the secondary and offensive line. No position on the Lions is a finished product in terms of talent but these two draft picks fill their two most pressing needs.
