Oh, right. Forgot about that. Damn

Well if he can bump anyone else off after Watson, that works too.

Gonna be crowded when Hollywood comes back.

Well technically he's already OFF the 53 because he's on IR.

So you got your wish...

Also one of the hardest to fill at the end of the draft.

At this time Worthy, Rice and Skyy are the only WR’s on the payroll next year. Of course they will likely bring back a couple guys like Juju, Hardman and hopefully Hopkins.

This is the right kind of move to get a depth player with traits to role out WR5 or WR6.

The guy reminds me a lot of Chris Conley. And you can be damn sure that his traits make him a much better option than Skyy or Ross

Technically Thornton should be under team control next season, right? I think if he's activated to the 53 by the end of the year, we'd have him eligible for an RFA deal. I think that's how these sorts of contracts work anyway.

No one is asking for Silverback or other All-Pro caliber types.

All he needed to find was NFL starting caliber tackles

He hasnt been able to do even that. We have 2 starting tackles who might not even make any other NFL roster, let alone start.

Are you talking about Juwon?

Yeah...this is just dumb.

Jawaan Taylor is a more than adequate starting OT. Above average as a pass protector, below average as a run blocker. He's exactly what he appeared to be.

Which is fine. He essentially IS Cam Robinson. Very very similar player. He costs too much to have put him at RT, but that's a coaching decision. From a talent standpoint, Taylor is just fine.

Believe so. I think this signals what they are wanting/needing to do this offseason.

They need to hammer key positions like OL, DL and corner this Spring. Aside from RB, which can be filled cost effectively in FA or in mid rds of the draft, they need to really get some talent in here at those positions.

We’ve done enough with weapons for now

Is that so? Presuambly we are talking about the same Taylor who leads the league in penalties for an OT for the last year and a half?

How many teams would put up with that?

Most of them.

You know who's leading the league in penalties from an OT this year?

Laremy Tunsil. Behind him, Bolles, Mekari, Dawkins, Brown and Ronnie Stanley.

Yeah - those guys are all just piles of shit, aren't they?

But you know what you know so just keep telling yourself whatever you need to. Keep on talking out your ass if you'd like.

Bad examples, because Tunsil, Bolles, Stanley and Dawkins are all Pro Bowlers, of course they will be excused. Not sure how easily or for what reason Taylor can get away with it, considering how average/below average his overall play is.

You know what else those 4 guys have in common?

They have as many Super Bowl rings as I do. Which is one less than the one Taylor earned last season when he was among the best OTs in football over the last half of the season and into the playoffs last year.

But again, keep telling yourself whatever you must.

I've not seriously heard anyone claim that, but you can hold than opinion if you want to.

The reality is this is a guy who was brought in as a LT, failed, and had to be shifted to RT. He maybe gets a pass at RT with a proper LT in place, but the fact he couldnt play LT when he was supposed makes him part of the overall problem.

Sassy Squatch 11-19-2024 11:13 AM

Wait, wut. They never even tried Taylor at LT. Donovan Smith was signed in May before off season OTAs even started.

He never took as much as a single training camp snap at LT. he never failed at LT - he was never tried.

What the hell are you even talking about?
