This isn’t win-win.

Thats the NFL rules you play under, authorized by the NFLPA, your represented. But still, this gets acrimonious its not in the Chief fans interests, the teams, Chris's and front office. No one benefits from a long drawn out hold out.

If he wants Donald money, he wont get it here. He can be the 2nd highest paid DL ever. I love Jones. Let's don't **** this up.

He’s trying to negotiate through the media. Leverage fan support to pressure the Chiefs FO to pay his denands.

He literally came out and said he wants to be the 2nd highest paid DT, but I definitely think he wants to be the highest paid defender not named Aaron Donald. Also where have you told us this?

I’m just reading the negotiating room.

If CJ was going to accept $25M per, the deal would already be done. He wants $30M and Veachy isn’t going to pay that.

Tag him next year if nothing gets worked out over the next few months. Tag number next year for DT is about $21 million. Let him explore his options. See what happens. Either outcome at that point is a win-win.

His tag # is 33.4 million next year

CJ is late to camp because his apartment was nearly destroyed while smoking pork butt on his balcony. Once his apartment is restored, he’ll be back in camp.

Creed Humphrey, Nick Bolton and Trey Smith all in the last years of their rookie deals next offseason and with big potential contract extensions pending.

The price of sustained success never easy.

If he was that far apart he wouldnt have been a big part of the ESPYs. Dude wants to be here, kc wants him here. This seems like the kind of card he knows he can only pull so often to get out of some of the off-season stuff. I am not that worried. CJ became the undisputed leader of the chiefs defense. Unlike honey badger, it's a title the chiefs want him to keep.

Gonna be uncomfortable to hear but these are the types of spots we need to think twice about. We don't need to tie all our payroll up to our interior OL and LBs. Unfortunately I think snead falls here too as long as we can keep churning DBs the way we have

Where did you get that number?
According to OTC, it is just under $21M.

Never understood the point in the gigantic contracts especially when they get backloaded

rarely does the player ever make it through the deal before getting cut for it

He better embrace it like Mahomes has.

Don’t be a POS once paid. This isn’t the 90s chiefs here you can get paid, not produce and the fanbase defend you.

Either produce or get ducked.

Wtf are you talking about? He was paid the same off-season Mahomes was and did he fail to produce then?
