Well, the Chiefs don't want EB as a head coach either.

Do you really think he couldn't get an OC position elsewhere? That's the relevant question.

Did they let him try?

We'll never know.

This.

He is not under contract so he could go do what he wants.

Too funny. Andy's a wuss. EB is going to cause more problems, and the offense is phooked.

May as well bring back Demarcus Robinson as well.

Your credibility is in the toilet at this point, and so are all your pals.

And I was hoping you were right.

Oh well.

Then we can safely assume that nobody offered him a job and that's why he's coming back. Gotcha.

Kafka is being replaced. Doesn't that = fresh minds, new ideas?

Actually it shouldn't be merged. This thread is based upon a more reliable sports journalist, not a gossip-monger.

It's the nature of fandom.

People wanted Sutton fired after 2017 and he eventually did after 2018.

He still fielded probably the best 3-year stretch of defense the Chiefs had since the early 90's when he had his best players on the field.

AT BEST, assistant coaches are somewhat involved in actual wins and losses. Mostly, they're just there to do detail work that the HC doesn't have time to do. It's delegation.

At the end of the day, you're going to win or lose with the talent on the field whenever the league allows you to. Coaching is icing on the cake.

FTFY.

Depends on who they bring in to replace him.

I don't think his seeking out a lateral job offer as an OC away would've been the best career move he could've made.

Other than lining up 4 down lineman instead of 3, there's really not a whole lot of difference in the way this defense plays as opposed to Sutton's 3-4.

I mean, it's Honey Badger instead of Eric Berry yelling at the players to get into position before the ball is snapped...but there's a lot of the same disorganized chaos, players out of position, making shit reads, not turning their head for the ball...

But...honestly, Dee Ford lines up correctly and we win a Super Bowl with Sutton's defense...so...I think you're on to something.

Probably not.

Which takes me back to "we'll never know".

The simple fact is, we know nobody wants him for a HC but we have no idea if anybody other than the Chiefs would hire him to be an OC. That's just the way it is.
