Well, shit.

Bioware canceled the Gamestop employees early demo access. :(

keg in kc 02-10-2011 03:31 PM

I think somehow people have been playing the demo already anyway.

keg in kc 02-10-2011 03:39 PM

By the way, are you sure about that? I know the site is down, but it's not supposed to be available until tomorrow anyway. Have you seen some kind of official statement that it's been cancelled?

Check the site again.

Ah, I didn't actually check the site, I just happened to read something on the bioware forums.

It seems strange. I'm assuming they realized that the demo was going to be online for everybody shortly after the gamestop employees got it anyway.

Or maybe there's some technical delay and this is a good way to hide that.

So, i picked up Dragon Age for $20 at target a couple of months ago, on a whim...haven't played a game since KOTR...too lazy, games seem too complicated most of the time

i had to run every setting at minimum, set affinty to 1 core since there seemed to be some bug with AMD chips, and it barely ran on my laptop....at like 67% speed

I finished last night. Pretty cool game. I'm the kind of player that doesn't geek out on all the strategy and spell configurations etc., just a warrior mashing through it all, and this game was simple enough to do that, thankfully, while still being interesting. And I banged Morrigan, wish that was more pornographic.

I'll play part 2 eventually, but probably not till I have a new computer as I'd guess I won't be able to run it.

Misplaced_Chiefs_Fan 02-11-2011 09:24 PM

Ordered mine tonight.

Definitely looking forward to it.

(Just what I needed, another time sink)

Got a DA Legends beta key. :D

keg in kc 02-13-2011 06:58 PM

I still don't have one.

(Still don't have a TOR beta key either, which I'm infinitely more miffed about)

They were handing them out on twitter today. I complained that they were being redeemed to quickly, so they direct messaged me my own key.

Quote:

What do you get when you combine one of the richest RPGs with the creator of one of the most watched web series of all time? Dragon Age™: Redemption. This all-new six-part web series is based in the Dragon Age universe and created by Felicia Day, the force behind the blockbuster web series "The Guild." Scheduled to premiere this summer, Dragon Age: Redemption is set in the same time period as BioWare's Dragon Age II.

Look for the world premiere of Dragon Age: Redemption this Wednesday, February 16, presented by Felicia Day on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on NBC (check your local listings), and get your first on-set look at Dragon Age: Redemption on "Gametrailers TV with Geoff Keighley" on Spike TV, Thursday, February 24 (check your local listings).

"I'm a huge Dragon Age fan, and I have been looking for a follow up project to 'The Guild' for quite some time," said Day. "I was thrilled when the opportunity to work with BioWare materialized. Dragon Age: Redemption allows me to tell a fantasy story in a new way, using a universe I really love. It has been a dream working together."

In Dragon Age: Redemption, Day stars as Tallis, an Elven assassin hired by the Qunari to capture a rogue mage intent on wreaking havoc throughout the world. In her quest to find this dangerous mage, Tallis is joined by other companions who are not always aligned in their beliefs and goals, but who band together to defeat their foe, in an attempt to restore peace and balance to this dark fantasy universe.

Day's original web series, "The Guild," which follows the story of a group of players in a fictitious MMORPG, was an instant internet phenomenon, attracting more than 100 million viewers in three years. Day is also known as the main love interest, Penny, in Joss Whedon's Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, and for her recurring role as Vi on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. For more information about Felicia, including updates on Dragon Age: Redemption, please follow her on Twitter at http://twitter.com/feliciaday/.

Dragon Age II has been named by CNN, Yahoo! Games, GameSpot and Wired.com among others as one of the most anticipated games of 2011. Gamers can get a small taste of what BioWare's action RPG has to offer when the Dragon Age II demo launches February 22 on the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system, the PlayStation®3 computer and entertainment system and PC.

Dragon Age II will be available in stores in North America on March 8, 2011 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 console, PC and Mac®. Pre-order your copy of Dragon Age 2 now.
