You don't think they could keep some of their natural rivalries, add the current flavors of the month aka Boise State, Utah and set up a schedule like Notre Dame has?

I think A&M and Tech would refuse to play them out of spite. I don't think OU would add them to their non-conference schedule either. Boise State and Notre Dame would definitely line up to play them.

Right now, Texas has the best of both worlds. They have the BCS bid and conference scheduling that being a part of a conference gives you plus they get to keep all their own TV money.

The good news is, I think the Big 12 looks more inviting to Notre Dame if they'll let them keep all their TV money too.

I'm sure they have. And I'm certain they've come to the conclusion they wouldn't be able to pull it off. They have appeal, but it's not the appeal of ND.

Plus, it'll be great watching KSU kick UT's ass on their own network.

Who wants to see UT play Navy? Or MSU? Or Air Force, PITT, Tulsa, Western Michigan?

ND doesn't want a schedule that includes UT. That schedule is set up to maximize wins.

UT knows it doesn't get any better than they have it now. So does ND.

I think he was just trying to avoid confusion since the Big 12 has 10 teams now and the Big 10 has 12.
