'Well, the first two quarters of that 4th game, and then the two games where he played well against the good teams, and that one second half against the ?' But the rest of the season when he was struggling, that was just because he was unhealthy, yeah, that's what it was.'

If you watch the games, like i do, you would see a definite demarcation between the Titans and Cardinals game. The Cardinals game was the first time he moved and broke out of the pocket, up to that point. From there, he was himself until the injury.

4 games of being immoble and it showed clearly, then 5 1/2 games of consistently good. There was no 'a couple quarters here, a game or two there'. There was a clear line.

Is that pain at the end of the video or boredom? He definitely doesn’t look happy to be back, that’s for sure. It’s hilarious that the team account sent that out.

You know the social media crew had a clear directive to show Burrow looking strong. It’s kinda worrisome that this was the best shot they got.

Sounds like there could be a stadium controversy brewing in Cincinnati? Will be interesting to see how that deal shakes out along with the stadium issues for Kansas City as well.

My brother in Christ. The defense made them formidable all those years. It's falling apart now. I'm going to expect it to suck until it proves me wrong.

At first I scoffed at the idea that the Chargers are a "current" rival, but Reid vs. Harbaugh actually might be one of the more exciting matchups heading into 2024. All of our other rivals have dropped off.

The first thing I'd ask in return is "what is a bad day," and "what is a good day," but then it occurs to me that those are exactly the questions he doesn't want to answer.

As a pro athlete with access to the best rehab/training advice I'm sure it will be better, but as a college pitcher I threw out my elbow (before TJ was a legitimate option for college pitchers) I couldn't pick up a baseball for like a year and a half...once I did try again for summer leagues I ended up with rotator issues, likely due to compensating for the elbow.

I hate the guy with a passion, but hope we get a chance to push his mug in the ground at his best.

Nothing in the Bengals entire history, with QBs especially, lends to being comfortable when it comes to injuries. Just potential for another in a long line of "what ifs".

But would make more sense for someone from Boston, Philadelphia, Seattle, San Francisco, or D.C.

All those metropolitan areas are way more populous than Cincinnati. The smallest, Seattle, has 4 million. Cincinnati has about 2.3, about the same as Kansas City. They are a peer city to Kansas City, and just as I want others to appreciate my hometown of KC, I appreciate the good things about other cities, especially Midwestern ones.

Next to the homeless camp.

True, but if you’re going to be known for one thing, that’s, like, the best thing you could be known for lol

Yeah, in 2013, the Chiefs and Royals were something like 110th and 112th in longest playoff droughts out of 114 teams across the 4 major sports.. so, from personal experience, I can tell you I wasn't on Twitter telling the world "I can't believe this is my life".

That's true, because kids don't make a lot of money, so if a region takes good care of their kids, that says something about their values. Most healthcare systems make pediatrics feel like they are losing money for the system. ;)
I appreciate how Children's Mercy In KC helped me deal with an eye injury when I was very young and my working class family was dealing with a lot.

You mean you had an ailment as a child and you didn't have to go to Cincinnati because they had the same type of facility in the city you lived in?

If the great things about your city can be found in any large metro area in the country, isn't that city just meeting the expectation, not surpassing it?

Cincinnati's Children's Hospital excels across a broad range of sub specialties, exceeding the high expectations that the United States has for its institutions, and they have performed like that for generations, so they attract excellent clinicians and researchers from all over. They are in the top tier of children's hospitals in the world. They currently sit atop the US News rankings of US children’s hospitals https://health.usnews.com/health-new...l-and-overview

Yes, it's a strong children's hospital. Well-funded, good programs, and an excellent pediatric cancer unit.

Most of the magnet children's hospitals in the United States are excellent facilities with at least one program where they really excel.

I used to work with all the childrens' hospitals in the country. It's definitely a peer but not a notable outlier.

The only childrens' hospitals that really have issues are the ones that are in depressed areas and have funding issues. Oakland struggles because it HAS to take Medicaid kids, and SF does not (they're in the same system and it is set up that way on purpose). Memphis Le Bonheur has issues at times because St. Jude's attracts a lot of local donors (and is very specialized). Etc.

It's right next to the highway overpass.

This truly sucks for the Bengals. Looks like another year of coming up last in their division. What is the over/under for which week Burrow lands on the bench with an injury? Home Alone, naturally.

I can predict it right now:

NFL RIGGED FOR CHIEFS SCHEDULING BENGALS AT WEEK2 BEFORE BURROWS IS FULLY HEALTHY!

If they somehow were to win, Joe will be praised relentlessly and the proclomation 'He's back' will be spread throughout the land.

If they lose, all we'll hear from Bengals fans is 'you're lucky you got us early', 'Joe isn't fully healthy yet' and 'the new O-Line hasn't had enough time to gel yet'

Go ahead and mark it down and write it in stone, etc. These are the EXACT excuses you will hear if/when they lose in Week 2.
