You'd think that since we play Houston we'd feel confident about taking, at the very least, the series. But after that shit in Minny, I can't say that.

Can we all agree that Butler at his best is a Derreck Jeter type of gap sometimes power hitter and stop having him yank the ball to the shortstop

So, Bonifacio couldn't have played third base, right?

That's just depressing.

I still can't believe Dayton just threw Bonifacio away the way he did. I'd like to know what the hell Bonifacio could have said or done that pissed off Dayton so much that he'd release him right after he signed him to a $3 Million contract.

Of course, Bonifacio probably couldn't help the Royals. His batting average has dropped all the way down to .392, and his OPS is a measly .887. :cuss:

BWillie 04-16-2014 01:41 AM

Problem is who do we even have in the minors that can play third? Dont think Gio has the arm strength

a bunch of career minor leaguers... Ciriaco, Paredes, and Donald.... at AA you have Cuthbert that isn't even close to being ready.

Let's hope Dozier hurries his ass along.

The Royals alternative option at 3B is on the roster: Danny Valencia.

This is exactly why he was acquired. If Moustakas continues to suck, and all indications are that he will, Valencia might find himself playing every day.

Infante could also play 3B, so if they trusted Gio's bat more against RHP than Valencia's, they could play Gio at 2B and Infante at 3B.

This was one of many reasons to keep Boni. And one of many reasons they should have been able to find him enough PT to keep him from getting upset about not having "full-time" playing status. They easily could have found 2 starts a week at 3B, 2 in CF, 1 in OF, 1 at SS/2B.

Dozier is starting the year at Wilmington, where it's unlikely he puts up eye-popping numbers due to the home field (he is slashing .313/.389/.438 on the road, though, which is a pretty strong line for the Carolina league, but has been practically nonexistent in Wilmington games).

Scouting reports so far have been glowing, though. Looks the part, barrels the ball consistently, has a good approach, plays very good D at 3B and has plus instincts.

I can't imagine playing April games in Wilmington, Delaware. Has to be just brutal... and swinging a wood bat? It's almost unfair.

Sure-Oz 04-16-2014 09:23 AM

Dozier looks like he's doing pretty good so far but that does nothing for this year.

Should've kept Bono....Moustakas gets what, mid may?

I think he's done honestly, he's not going to hit

It wasn't an issue that he pissed off the Royals. Bonifacio was rumored to be demanding a chance to compete for a full-time job, and after we got Infante, that wasn't going to happen. So, the Royals were afraid he might be a malcontent at UTIL. The Cubs gave him a chance and he won a starting job for them.

Obviously we could have told him he wasn't going anywhere, and tried to figure out a way to give him enough starts this year to keep him happy.

Couldn't let Bono get in the players 'domes' as ned says, they are so mentally fragile they couldn't risk it.

Should've kept him and if it became an issue then you cut him. GMDM makes some stupid decisions early.

What happens to our players if Houston closes the roof creating a dome today? Does that make them less succeptible to having someone get in their dome since there is an outer layer, or does will their domes be more fragile?

BlackHelicopters 04-16-2014 10:19 AM

I saw this story on our KTLA morning news Entertainment report. They basically said that Lorde summoned Brett to meet her in Las Vegas yesterday (I think it was yesterday, I know it was in Vegas.)

I told my wife that Brett probably had one hand in her pants and the other one cleaning the shit out of his. Bad things happen in Vegas for George.

Yost is not going to shuffle that part of his lineup after just 15 games. Probably will take a little longer without Billy producing before that switch would be made.

McCullough alluded to this on twitter last night.

That's also a lineup without Aoki, so they moved Perez around.
