I'm telling you...if Reid is hired and given full control to build this thing however he sees fit...we can't knock Clark anymore
|
Schefter seemed to stick to his convictiions about Reid coming here and Haley interviewing in AZ. Nothing new really so I will go ahead and..

No. Rivera was LB coach in Philly and was then hired as DC in Chicago. |
Quote:
I know he failed miserably as a HC, but he loved the aggressive, attacking, 4-3 fronts in NYG. He was a good LBs coach in Philly. He learned Jim Johnson's schemes and incorporated them well in NY. Then he went to STL and failed pretty badly. And as an interim HC, he still failed pretty badly. But when he went back to DC in NO, they recovered nicely and finished the year much better. Yeah, he got ripped by a NOLA player recently, but players are idiots and someone's always bitching. I think Spags would be a really nice fit as a DC here. If you want the next Jim Johnson, Spags is as close as they come. |

NFL Network said Reid told Chiefs he and Tom Heckert are a package deal.

Glad I talked myself into likeing Andy Reid before we got him. Just draft Geno & or Barkley & or Wilson and I will be happy (mostly Geno)

Wonder what that looks like? |
@RoobCSN
ESPN reporting Chiefs close to deal with Andy Reid, but I'm told by two sources Andy still talking with Cards and Chargers as well. |

I won't complain if the new GM/coach wants to get rid of Rivers, but I won't rule out a Warner-esque late-career resurgence either. |
LOL
What if Clark says "no" to getting rid of Pioli and we lose Reid........ |
Why are we so excited about this guy? Without McNabb he never did a Damn thing. His offense sucks. His clock management makes herm Edwards look like Bill Walsh . I'm not that enthused

Mortensen "I'm expecting Andy Reid to be the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. I'm not reporting that but I ... just me ... I'm expecting the deal to get done pretty soon."
"Reid wants full power and the chiefs are willing to do that ... the Cardinals have more .... 'clutter' ... " trying my best to quote him exactly... |

Me thinks ole Andy might be trying to get an extra few BBQ buying papers from Clark.

Phillip Rivers is a first class crybaby loser. He'll never win in the NFL, regardless of coach. |
Darren Woodson on ESPN moments ago: 'Andy Reid is going to take Matt Cassel under his wing and make him a better football player'
:D |
Danny Parkins interviewed Howard Eskin who spoke directly to Reid. Reid said no interview with AZ is planned.

No, I meant "well bye, Scott". |
Andy Reid and Tom Heckert were 38-25-1 in 4 years together. 3 playoff wins.

Sounds VERY good for KC right now, doesn't it? |

So is he still in Philly with the Chiefs execs?
|
Clark could save KC millions in productivity dollars by just getting the deal done and caving to salary demands.

Don't get me wrong, he's a major upgrade from the Pioli/Crennell reign of terror, but I'm still relieved that the Chargers will be getting someone else. |

I also want to say: Childress as QB coach? Hell to the yes. If you can get Rivera as DC, holy shit.

That's a 10-6 average. Can't really do better than that unless you are the patriots. |
During his 14-year tenure, Reid has compiled the best win total (120), winning percentage (.609) and playoff victory total (10) in team history. He captured six division titles and five trips to the NFC Championship game. During this period, no other franchise earned more divisional playoff round appearances (7) and only Bill Belichick's New England Patriots exceeded Philadelphia's (5) conference championship game appearances with (6). Reid also sent 19 players to 44 Pro Bowl appearances, the highest total for any team in the NFL during that period. None of these players had ever appeared in a Pro Bowl before Reid was hired.

But that ship has long sailed. |
Was Shurmur (outside of being OC) more of a WR or OL coach? I know Childress is definitely a QB coach.

does anyone actuallly think there will be a worse GM than PIoli?
