I'd like to take this time to reflect on the first two rounds and the two teams I drafted for; Detroit and the NYG.
With the Lions passing on Suh and McCoy is on the same level of mistake of passing on Michael Oher last season. However, having had a front row seat for the entire Jeff Backus era at LT for the Lions it has been a cornerstone of their epic futility. By drafting Okung that wrong had been righted. Backus can slide inside and two positions on the Ol are instantly better.
The Lions needed a cornerback who can come in and play right away and Devin McCoutry gives them that plus excellent special teams play.
With these two picks and their other off season acquisitions the Lions can now field a starting lineup without a major void. This alone is a major accomplishment in the wake of the Millen era..
With the Giants, drafting Graham is a no-brainer. I almost took him at 2. God Bless his Maize and Blue heart. Washington in the second is a perfect example of when value meets need. Those two added to Rolle give the Giants a very nice influx of talent on defense.
