THREAD. WILL. NOT. DIE.

Pablo 08-19-2010 08:43 PM

If I had a couple days to sit around and do nothing I'd like to read back through the first 50 pages of this thread.

All the "LATERZ YO, WE IS TO SEXY AND PPL WANT US BAD" talk by the MU contingent would surely be entertaining all over again.

It seems a lot of BYU fans seem to think a big reason they are going independent is to position themselves better for the next wave of realignment and save themselves a little bit of money in exit fees from the MWC so that its easier to hop to the Big XII when Nebraska and Colorado leave. They feel that the Big XII will not add teams until NU and CU have paid their exit fees because those schools may fight paying the fees if membership never falls below 12 members. They really want in the Big XII and despise the Pac 10 for choosing Utah over them. This is what I've gathered from cougarboard anyways.

I wouldn't hold my breath that the Big XII is planning on adding a team from Utah to the fold.

While the Big 12-2 is good for Kansas in the short term. They really need to be talking under the table w/ the football teams in the Big East about a new conference with or w/out Texas when this shit happens again in 4-5 years.

This shit will happen alot sooner tham that, and I hope that it is without Texas. Maybe BYU will start a trend, and schools that are run by cults, or people from Texas will all become indies.

The word I got today was Texas wants BYU in the Big 12.

Not to mention BYU was the original choice for number 12 until Texas legislatiors told them to take Baylor.

I'm starting to think the chances of Nebraska beating Texas this year aren't very good. They've already lost 2 contributers and word has it a D-tackle was lost for the year today.

Can we close/kill/mutilate this thread? I get sick to my stomach every time I see the title.

Did Missouri accept the invite?

Yeah, I'm certain that this all worked out exactly as the Big 10 wanted. Nebraska is going to look like the adopted kid with bad gas and buck teeth at every Big Ten function.

They really wanted Missouri and had to settle for Nebraska right?

At the end of the day, we suit up in the Black and Gold and prepare ourselves for the 100-yard destruction of the unfortunate souls who religiously sport and worship the most comical-looking cartoon mascot ever devised.

Life goes on, and goes on well.

Amen.

HolyHandgernade 08-20-2010 09:36 AM

If they do take BYU, I hope they don't take another Texas school like TCU just to get to 12 teams. I say ride 11 awhile until you get a school you really want and outside of the current geographic footprint.

Mizzou needs to get back on the phone with the Big 10 and reiterate their academic standing. They just had a girl advance to the semi-finals of college Jeopardy.
