Thing is I think it's an accurate statement. What's so sad is that he thinks that's something positive. The Chiefs are built to beat everybody. Really glad I never hear shit like "We're built to beat the Bills". How ****ing depressing would that be?

He was on a stage in front of thousands of Cincy fans at an event hosted by a key Chiefs player. I wouldn't exactly expect him to be contrite.

wazu 04-12-2024 12:23 PM

And to add one more point, what happens when you don't beat the Chiefs? The only thing you were trying to do you have now failed at.

You'd have a point if they haven't proven that they'll run their mouths any time anywhere, including Burrow.

No Mixon or Boyd and a bad defense, with a brokedick QB.

Definitely the formula for beating the Chiefs.

It was the perfect solution and it still didn't work.

I know what it's like to lose. To feel so desperately that you're right, yet to fail nonetheless... Dread it. Run from it. Destiny arrives all the same. And now Mahomes is here. Again...

We’ve won the only two Super Bowls since Brady retired lol

Not worried about the Bengals at the moment..

Do you watch First Things First?

The bulletin board is tough but fair. One simple rule. Don’t talk shit.

Burrow is too stupid to figure that one out

Everyone always forgets his OPOY award when mentioning his accolades.

Yeah, it's not an MVP, but only one player gets the award each year, and is usually given to the best offensive player who didn't get MVP.

Amarius Mims missed six games with an ankle injury last year and only started eight games in three seasons at Georgia, but the Bengals didn't hesitate to select him with the 18th pick Thursday night in the first round of the NFL Draft.
WHAT?

It’s almost like the Bengals can’t assemble an OL…..

It's not like their o-line coaches are actually flood gates, I don't think

Nate Taylor is full of shit. If KC really wanted Mims, they would've gotten him.

I prefer a guy with a higher ceiling than Mims who has had zero injuries in his entire career

He basically said the Chiefs traded up one spot for Kingsley to give him a confidence boost. In other words, he's clueless.

I'm sure the Chiefs would have loved to get Joe Alt even more. It's tough sledding when you pick #32 every year. Lesser teams get to pick way before us. Good pick by the Bengals.

Exactly. If Taylor is going to spew BS as fact, he could at least make it something plausible.

So Higgins is done there, right? Everybody wants out of there. They’re like the antithesis of the Chiefs.

Why are they top 5 in SB odds? Don’t they have a bad defense now and are losing three of their top weapons?

Seriously, what’s the logic here? A QB who’s relied heavily on his defense in every playoff win is now going to carry a team with far fewer weapons?

Mediocre OL/weak D/one standout offensive weapon = top 5 team?

They'll be fine.

I could explain the logic, but i've actually already done it many times and i don't feel like re-stating it right now. So let's go with they'll be fine and you'll just have to trust me.

To the AFC Championship game where they lost by a FG and Burrow playing like an elite QB last year when he was healthy?

The only way the Bengals falter is if Burrow is injured. He still has a hump to get over when he's healthy though. If he's healthy this year and they don't get the job done, then i have to believe it's not going to happen.

Did they fix their OL issues? As much as they can anyway, I realize that they still have Brown. And what's the word in Burrow's wrist? I saw part of a podcast a couple months ago and he seemed completely relaxed about it, but I was curious what the official word was.

The wrist seems to be a nonstory. He's been working out and doing normal things for a couple months now.

Oline fixed? We'll see. They have 3 massive--and at least decent--tackles. Karras and Cappa are above average. Volson is not good but he's going into year 3 so we'll see if he has any growth at all. I will say that i'm not at any kind of 'worried' stage in regards to the line, right now.

This is Burrow's 5th training camp and he has yet to have anything close to a "normal" one in the previous four.

Good to hear about his wrist. Some of the initial predictions were kind of bleak.

Hammock Parties 05-06-2024 09:17 AM

Bengals QB Joe Burrow’s wrist will “NEVER be the same,” per discussion with my Cincinnati source this morning.

“Joe’s surgery in LA was not to fix his injury, but to make sure the bone grows correctly. Joe will always be at risk of injury because his bone has to grow back and that could take two years. His playing will all be off of risk.”

Telling on themselves? If you're getting downvoted by a peter puffer like InvinciBill, you're doing something right.

The only way the Bengals falter is if Burrow is injured. He still has a hump to get over when he's healthy though. If he's healthy this year and they don't get the job done, then i have to believe it's not going to happen.

Okay, assume that Burrow's 100%. They still have a defense that was next to last last season. What have they done to fix that?

And how can you think that losing Boyd, Mixon and Higgins won't matter?

I wasn't paying attention to those cucks last year. Their defense was NEXT TO LAST? What?

Yeah. The inexperience and changing of the guard at S really seemed to bother them. Plus, Reader missed a bunch of the year and Wilson and Pratt looked a lot more mortal without him.

I guess they could work it out, but as of a few days ago, it didn't sound like that was likely.

I knew they were struggling without Burrow, but GODDAMN.

I love how Bengals fans say this, not just you, but then get to define the parameters of 'when' he was actually healthy last season.

'Well, the first two quarters of that 4th game, and then the two games where he played well against the good teams, and that one second half against the ?' But the rest of the season when he was struggling, that was just because he was unhealthy, yeah, that's what it was.'

Well, luckily for them Reader will be back at full strength this . . . . . . . . . oh, wait.

They've added pieces and shuffled pieces on the defense. Vonn Bell is back. He was the guy responsible for adjustments when he was here before. Dax Hill is moving back to the CB room.

Boyd was ok but his production is replaceable. Mixon was a volume back and JAG. Higgins isn't going anywhere.
