LAWRENCE, Kan. - University of Kansas football team's wide receiver Mark Thomas is under investigation after reports of an alleged sexual assault this past weekend. The player was arrested near the Jayhawk Towers dorm.

Campus police have turned the case over to the Douglas County District Attorney's Office, but Thomas has not yet been charged.

According to the Director of Football Communications, Katy Lonergan, he has been suspended indefinitely from the team pending further findings in the case.

We will update this story as new information becomes available.

But Pat Kaufman, the chief financial officer for KU athletics, said much of that surplus is due to future pledges and donations that had to be counted this year because of accounting rules. In fact, Kaufman said, a change in the department’s fundraising cycle caused nearly a year and a half’s worth of contributions to be counted in 2013. Kansas counted nearly $33 million in contributions in 2013, up from $22.4 million the year before.

“It’s kind of an anomaly this year,” Kaufman said, “because we adjusted our cycle.”

KU officials say the department’s operating expenses, which increased from nearly $79 million to $79.7 million over the last year, are a better reflection of the amount of cash the department brings in each year.

“We really don’t have a significant cash surplus,” Kaufman said, before adding: “We pretty much know what our revenue numbers are going to be, and we budget to live within our means."

He should have known it was too good to be true. After all, ku wide receivers have only scored three times in like five years.

Without those donations counted 18 months forward, it reads as though KU would have been in the red. Again.

So for the past 7 years, it's: KU 525.9, MU 426.3, and KSU 403.9. One would think football would generate more money but not in this case locally.

Plenty of things wrong with your posts on this particular link. But again....for the 1,000th time, football absolutely brings in more revenue than basketball.

I'm pulling this data directly from the link you are claiming is a significant KU victory:

2013 MU football revenue: $31.9 million
2013 MU football expenses: $17.4 million
2013 net: $14.5 million

2013 KU basketball revenue: $16.4 million
2013 KU basketball expenses: $10.7 million
2013 KU net: $5.7 million

Which number is larger? 14.5 or 5.7

Private donations and accounting methods.

You count private donations as revenue, as opposed to what they are.

KU is better at begging for money, congrats.

The interesting thing that I took from your link is that KSU does a much better job at budgeting and using their money than KU does.

You are probably aware that the donations are in exchange for personal seat licenses at Allen Fieldhouse. And as such, are not charity, and are not "begged for.

Mizzou also counts donations in their totals as well, FYI

In the meantime having bowl games with ratings similar to the round of 32 in the NCAA Basketball Tournament aren't so bad..

Because you made a fool out of yourself, that's why. KU dominates the money comparison somehow, yet you didn't bother even trying to understand why that is. You can pull up KUs entire report online if you still don't follow. Basketball PSLs + Tier 3 revenue equals money Mizzou can't generate.

AT&T and Dish have already signed on to carry the SEC network nationally. Direct, Charter, and Comcast (who will soon own time warner customers as well) are in negotiations.

Don't worry, this is just how business is hammered out when you have football games people actually want to watch and all the money that goes along with it. It's a high stakes game.

Did you even read your own link, troll? Because if you did, you'd have read how all 5 will almost certainly be carrying the network by the time it launches in SIX MONTHS.

According to the filing detail, KU made $27m from television deals while Mizzou made $20m their first year in the SEC. I guess football isn't as popular at MIzzou or maybe the SEC isn't as popular, who knows, but they need a boost. That's for sure.

Lol. You've done your damndest throughout this thread at scratching and clawing to prove ANY type of KU semblance at anything they possibly do better than Missouri. We could have a debate about better bars in Lawrence and Columbia, and you'd twist up some obscure fact about how the owners of some Lawrence tavern made millions in the early 80's on some strange investment, therefore proving their superiority over Columbia's counterparts and walk away with your arms in the air.

Blake planted you and your bullshit. He flat eviscerated your points, but you're so dense you can't comprehend you're wearing circus clown shoes, or just too stubborn to admit it. Well, to most people I would think this would be painfully obvious, but you're a special breed Bambi. Let me explain it to you.

Mizzou........(drumroll).........is NOT in the Big 12-4+(0.5). They play in the SEC now. Simple logic and reasoning would tell you it would be extremely strange for them to have a banner hanging in the middle of a conference tournament they DON'T EVEN PARTICIPATE IN.

Furthermore, while I'm sure you think P&L is a cool place, anyone over the age of 22 that isn't going for douchebag of the year award avoids that place like the plague. You can have it, buddy. All to yourself.

Columbia Police Sergeant Joe Bernhard confirmed that Price was arrested at 2:31 a.m. at 3007 Troyer near the intersection of Green Meadows, but the incident that led to his arrest occurred at 1:17 a.m. in the “area of Stadium Boulevard,” according to the probable cause statement.

Price, 20, was involved in a dispute with a 23-year-old male roommate and 23-year-old Amanda Ackerburg and followed them to the area of Stadium Boulevard, blocked in their vehicle with his own vehicle, preventing them from leaving the area, according to the probable cause statement.

The statement said that Price exited the vehicle and struck one of the victims in the face with a closed fist. The other victim attempted to intervene and was pushed to the ground by Price.

One of the victims tried to spray Price with mace. Both victims were said to sustain minor injuries as a result of Price's actions.

Como-Sexual basketball reminds me of something Oscar Wilde once said: "If I can't be famous, I will be infamous"

Kansas City thanks you. The Big 12 Tournament is probably the highlite of the KC sports year. Well...that and Sporting Kansas City.

I'm sure having MU leave was a contributing factor to the rise of the tourney but I guess that can't be proven, can it?

What rise in the tourney? The tourney has been successful in KC for years, and was successful this year despite the lack of KU support...Iowa State thanks you for that home game at Sprint, by the way.

Another Wickedson lie, sponsored by the big bevo.

The football recruit you just signed. Please try and keep up. Did his dad play at KU or not? I ask because one of the best hoops players in the country at the Mickey D game last night on ESPN is going to Kentucky. Even though his dad played at Mizzou.

I'm not sure why I would care where his dad went to school. He's the best football player in the state of kansas and he's coming to Mizzou.

Hahaha. This is just awful trolling, even by your standards. I think even Bitch might be a little embarrassed for you for both those sentences.

What's bigger?

The Royals? They haven't been to the playoffs in 25 years.

The Chiefs? They haven't won a playoff game in 20 years. I admit more people attend Chiefs games throughout the year than the Big 12 Tourney but the concentration of Kansas City buzz is most definitely centered around the Big 12 Tourney.

Lol, you don't even ****ing live here. How would you even begin to attempt to think you know the pulse of the sports center of KC? I'll give you this - that week of the Big Whatever tournament is pretty fun around here, but nobody talks about it the other 50+ weeks of the year.

But you know that. Good job trolling me.
