Javon Porter is a non-surprising add. I don't know that I see a much different role for him than they get from Trent Pierce (skilled 6-10 dudes who can shoot and run and jump, but are a little soft and inconsistent), but I don't hate-hate it.

I'll once again mention that Lisa Porter is the problem with all her kids. I don't love getting back into bed with the family from that perspective.

Next season is going to turn on the type of guards/wings Gates is able to add. They need a combo guard who can shoot to give them some insurance in case Ant Robinson keeps fouling incessantly like a nincompoop (call him a SOBBOFLAN - sitting on bench because of fouls like a nincompoop) and they need a wing who can shoot and drive it to replace Gates/Grill.

I think a frontcourt built around Mark Mitchell can be pretty darn good if you support him with the right guys. Right now they need a more physical guy to help against bigger teams.

I liked it better when we were done with Porters.

So he's going to sit the bench and rest up for the NBA like his brother?

I'm not thrilled about another Porter, but we're losing what? 9 players? 6 to graduation and 3 to the portal. Gotta get some help somewhere.

You scared me; I thought we lost someone of significance and see that it's only really Shaw.

Yep. Replacing Shaw with Porter is a net gain.

I don't know if I'd go that far, but I doubt it hurts us too much.

So, I guess that after we got Porter, Allen decided to transfer out. I know that he didn't get a lot of playing time this year, but I thought that he was ready to take a step forward next year.
