As proud as I am of this thread, it still comes second to the one I made in Jan 2017 simply posting why I thought Patrick Mahomes II of Texas Tech should be our franchise QB. ;)

I don’t follow CFB that closely, but Mahomes was my choice. I couldn’t believe people were holding his record against him. He was throwing to guys who probably sell used cars now and the defense allowed 50 points every week.

I didn't watch him much in college, but at 30k feet, QBs in that type of college offense are probably the hardest to figure out in terms of transitioning to the NFL... and it's one thing to be able to throw across your body and the field 40 yards, but there's plenty of shit you can get away with in college that will land you on the bench in the NFL.

It's still easy to make fun of the Lazs of the world wanting a running back first and I was ****ing thrilled they picked any QB in the first round of the draft for the first time in my life... but, I doubt any of us could even hindsight our way into thinking this was going to be the result.
