Sad as this is I honestly couldn't identify a "hipster."

To me it's just another term for "counter-culture-douchebag."

I buy $#it I like, I wear it, the end...

If the glasses aren't corrective and you like soccer because it's a superior game to football because it's Europe's favorite sport and Europe is soooo much better at everything than America is beside dropping bombs on brown people.

I would be amused about this designation, but as a confirmed hipster I must undercut genuine emotion with egotistical mockery.

So: Oh, that's neat.

Just to get the facts straight: we have really sucked complete ass at dropping bombs on brown people lately.

SNR is hitting his stride now. The George and Donger ones were both amazing. ROFL

I'm going to have to actually go through and try to catch up on the roasts if they've been this quality. I wish the newest ones would be moved to the OP.

SNR, the Donger roast was perfection.

Rico and Rausch, the conversation after the Donger roast cracked me up. Ziggy Stardust, hipsters, and gay bars. Oh my!! I spent 18 hours yesterday working on my wife's new office building and catching up on this thread helped recharge the old batteries.

So analogy time.

What if homers were coffees?

You'd have your standard cup of nice hot black coffee in BCD/BigChiefDave/one of the overweight assholes of Fate in the True Fan gif. Apart from all the different blends you can discern between, he's Joe Everyman coffee. You can always count on him for an apology for one of the franchise's decisions they've made recently. Doesn't matter the time of day. Or the QB. Or the soft bitch pussy cum gargler of a LT one selects at #1 overall. He'll always be there.

On the other hand, you've got BARRYSKOOLAID as a shot of espresso. His homerism is abrasive and extremely shocking and jarring. While BCD goes down easy among most unsuspecting people, I don't know that many fans who ever enjoyed reading the shit he wrote or podcasted about except if they hate themselves and love tweaking bitter people.

Chief Roundup would be an iced coffee with sugar and shit in it. You can drink an iced coffee and appreciate the bitterness in the taste without having to get used to it. It's still got that gross coffee aftertaste; you know, the one that's like "How can we judge any of our QBs when our offensive line is only top 15-20? There's no way we should expect any QB to succeed when our line just isn't necessarily bad, but it's not good!" It's got that kind of flavor, but you can read it without wanting to put an axe through your internet device. Sometimes he even talks sense.

I'm pretty sure that's only when he's smoking pot, though. Which is all the time.

I remember Shehee getting his ass chewed by Marty in '98 for failing to make a diving catch for a TD thrown by Gannon against the Raiders in the game where Jeff George got pummeled like a five dollar hooker in Tijuana. Shehee didn't see much action after that for a number of weeks.

Bitch, please...

Moby Dick is literary brilliance. It stands as the greatest example of allegory, hands down. The imagery and passion are exemplary. The social, religious and political underpinnings are sublime.

And add to it that it languished, unread for 70+ years, before anyone knew it existed and that most of Melville's other novels, writings, etc., are pretty much dog shit makes it all the more brilliant. It's not like the guy was ****ing John Updike or John Steinbeck.

Edit: Moby Dick is more Joe Delaney. A brief, singular example of brilliance that was really only appreciated after the author had been gone and time for understanding and appreciation allowed people to genuflect on it's meaning, importance and contributions.

So...

How do social, religious and political underpinnings of a novel make something sublime? How can they? How can they overwhelm the senses and even induce elements of fear and inferiority in a beautiful and life-changing way?

That's why it's a great book you ****ing dunderhead.

Because those subtleties within the book, the underlying commentary on those aspects of the pre/mid-Industrial Revolution era are inducing a conceptualization of brilliance/greatness for the reader as it relates to the work as a whole.

That's not what sublimity is. You're using it in the context of "This shit is really cool, therefore it's sublime!" That's a misuse of the term.

Hello. I have a question about this thread. It states that it is about "The Top 101 CP Posters of 2014." I find that to be a woefully inadequate thread title. Does that mean the top 101 best posters or top 101 worst posters?

Hello. I have a question about this thread. It states that it is about "The Top 101 CP Posters of 2014." I find that to be a woefully inadequate thread title. Does that mean the top 101 best posters or top 101 worst posters?

It's the listmaker's Top 101 CP posters of 2014....some seem to be scoring extra credit for longevity. Kind of like the NFL Network's version in that regard.

The images don't go in the OP?!?!? Damn, my first one was completely dependent on the images and vids.

Can only have 20 and that got used up quickly. Hell I had to delete a damn smiley outta Laz's for it to let me save it.

Can you take a couple of the first posts and just provide links? Or some of the others. It doesn't matter which ones.

Can't argue with much of my "roast".

I can say that I stopped going to DC because many of the people over there are crazy and there will not any minds changed, just the same people arguing the same point of view over and over again.

I just put it in one giant spoiler and now it works

At least for adding dongers roast. Not sure about images yet.

Think we will do up until 50 then it's part two.
