Considering that the promotion wasn't even a thing months ago, yeah I'd say it's a big deal.

That's a shame because honestly, nxt had a much better show than AEW had last night IMO.

I don't think so. Audio mixing was really off, pacing wasn't there and jesus **** do they need to old yeller JR already.

It's something they need to build up and I'm sure they will. But the event itself was pretty meh and the crowd elevated it up some.

One thing I will say that they definitely had going for them was the womens division. Looks like a strength.

AEW vs NXT doesn't mean shit, no matter what the crazed buffoon in charge of WWE thinks. All you have to do is put on the best product possible and you'll be fine. I'm sure we'll have a couple of panic moves where some guys get sent to NXT and they'll definitely get out of Full Sail, but NXT hasn't ever really done we'll on the road besides Takeovers so they might actually hurt themselves there.

AEW needs to figure out the audio ASAP. Entrances in particular just felt really flat.

I don't think NXT needs to leave Full Sail. As long as the matches are good and the crowd is hot, they'll be fine in the long run.

The worst thing that could happen to the product would be a full time on the road schedule where they are wrestling in front of a dead as **** crowd in Shit ****, Kentucky. The WWE product is already too saturated with shows as is.

NXT and The Fiend/FFFH are the only interesting things they have.

Kofi's butial aside - and who knows where that leads; Bryan got buried like that once... - that was a pretty phenomenal show last night

The question they face, both AEW and WWE, is how or even if they can maintain that kind of heat moving forward. Because you only get one premiere and then it's all downhill from there. The Rock can't open the show again, a major AEW heel faction reminiscent of the nWo can't form every week, Balor and Chiampa can't surprise return again.

Wanting to see where all this leads should generate audience for a week or two, but then what can or will they do to retain people. The honeymoon period will end, for all of them.

I watched both AEW and NXT and it was exactly what I expected. AEW has a different feel which is good in this day and age where everything is WWE.

However the NXT roster has much better workers on it capable of much higher end matches. One of the downsides of AEW is it is a company that doesn't exactly have a lot of high end workers.

I'd also like to point out if this was 20 years ago...a maineventer with the age and body type of Chris Jericho would be mocked endlessly, how times have changed. That new hip wrestling company has a fat 50 year old as champ and the smarks eat it up....

Well, the industry standard just buried their wildly popular champ in order to roll out a fat 40-year-old that is a total greenhorn in a feud that doesn't even need the belt.

That's the thing. A fat sloppy pile of shit like Jericho should be mocked endlessly. He's basically Hulk Hogan.

SmackDown's debut on FOX last night averaged 3.87 million viewers

That's pretty good, but lets see what the numbers are when the rock isn't showing up.

Did anyone see the Lucha AAA matches last Saturday on Twitch? Kenny Omega showed up and won the title from Rey Fenix. He botched a V Trigger pretty bad and looked like he broke Rey Fenix's nose but Fenix came out for a face pop at the end in street clothes and looked ok.

I've been getting back into wrestling lately somewhat and watched some of Omega's matches. My favorites are the matches against Naito, Jericho and a tag team match w Ibushi against the Young Bucks. The dude is flat out good.
