Can someone explain the logic of restructuring Thuney if you're not going to make a trade?

This is why I feel like there has to be a trade for a DE or CB before the draft. And then get a CB and WR in the draft.

Because there's literally zero downside to it.

If he says yes, go ahead. Worst case scenario is that the cap space you cleared and don't spend becomes a cap credit that rolls into subsequent seasons and pays for the cap charges you created in the coming years.

It's a net zero from a cap standpoint that creates immediate additional flexibility so that if something you like does come along (be it trade, FA or an extension), you already have the money moved around as needed to make it happen.

You just have to be responsible with it. If you DO spend it, now it's gone and you've created 'unfunded' liabilities for the next few years. You're paying on credit, so to speak. So if you spend it, make it count.

Chris,

Do you wish I were Brett Veach?

He's not a good player, at all, I've no idea why people are suggesting him as an option. But I do wonder whether it's been the smartest move to not bring in a DE before now.

I thought that got done like 3 weeks ago.

Lord. I feel like that really should be done by now. Why are we going into this draft so obviously needing help at DE when there are a couple of solid options still out there? Signing one wouldn't preclude drafting another couple.

We'll almost certainly sign one, but probably on Monday.

I don't know, do you want to pay big money for over the hill broke dicks?

Do you want to sign more Seattle cast-offs?

Do you want to trade half of your draft for Jameson Williams?

If not, then perhaps!

:)

We will probably sign clowney

Giants are shopping Darius Slayton and the Eagles are listening to offers for Jalen Reagor.

Kiimo 04-26-2022 12:52 PM

Tell the Eagles we'll take Jalen Reagor if they give us the 18th pick

I like Slayton a lot. He's been in a shitty situation for a while. I'd toss the Giants a later round pick (7th this year or a 5th or 6th in 2023) to have him for this year.

He'd be a nice weapon to compliment the other skill players we have. Another chess piece for Reid and Mahomes . . . . . .

Why in the world did we sign Reiter back?

I mean...if you can get Slayton and Bradberry for a 4th and a 7th....and get a 6th back? I'd take that.

Wasn’t Nick Allegretti drafted as a C?
