I'm just going to say a while back in this thread someone was arguing with me because I said there would be no 16 team conferences. I'm not looking it up but inproved you wrong, dick.

Notre Dame, Arkansas: Come on Down
By Tom Keegan

Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, former University of Arkansas football player and big-time power broker in the world of professional and now college athletics, is the driving force behind a potential move that would make the Big 12 the most compelling conference in the history of college football.

Why is that funny? "Compelling" is fair, no? A conference with OU, Texas, Notre Dame, A&M, and Arkansas would turn on a lot of television sets for a lot of different reasons.

Strongest? No. Compelling? Sure.

The "most compelling conference in the history of college football" is an overstatement, don't you think? If the Big XII added ND and Arkansas (which won't happen), it still wouldn't be the most overpowering, or attention grabbing college football conference currently, yet in the history of college football.

com·pel·ling

–adjective

1.tending to compel; overpowering: compelling reasons.

2.having a powerful and irresistible effect; requiring acute admiration, attention, or respect: a man of compelling integrity; a compelling drama.

I think you mean Kansas screwing themselves in the NCAA tournament.

Also, yes, you make a lot more than other Big 12 schools in basketball revenue. That doesn't necessarily mean it makes more than your football revenue. Not saying it doesn't, because I don't know.

You guys are still whining about that good call?

Has anyone noticed how Missouri maneuvered the two teams that most famously cheated them out of victories right on out of the Big 12? Goodbye and good riddance to the Colorado Fifth Down Buffalos and the Nebraska Kick-to-Catch Huskers.

LMAO

Too much irony for me.

Yes, compelling. That is indeed the word: tending to compel.

I just heard on 810 so take it for what its worth: The Pac 10 was trying to switch OSU with KU at that last minute and Texas didn't like this so that's why they decided to stay.

Why would Texas care?

910 is reporting that the Pac-10 was trying to switch OSU for MU.

The use of the word compelling is fine. Putting "most" in front and "in the history of college football" after is what makes the statement comical.
