Unfortunately for them, Jimmy is just not that guy. They really have no place to go but down from here, unless by some miracle Jimmy turns into a franchise QB.

the thing is this-

every year, teams overpay for Kirk Cousins.

And let's be clear- Jimmy G is Kirk Cousins. Or Case Keenum. Same ****ing guy.

And Andy Reid goes 2-1 with Matt ****ing Moore, fresh from coaching high school when Mahomes goes down. Making league minimum.

If your guy isn't elite, don't ****ing pay him shit. Because he's not going to win you a trophy.

Unless he's elite, he's completely replaceable. There's like 20 guys that can do that job. Do NOT overpay for that. You can get veteran stop-gap guys that mostly won't LOSE you games in lots of places.

But unless you've got one of those SPECIAL guys, like top 5 in the game type guys (or a young guy that legitimately has a chance to be one of those guys) you're wasting your time.

Just go get a Fitzpatrick and draft a kid. Seriously.

What's crazy is that was nowhere close to the Chiefs A game on offense and they won by 11 points.

I give credit to Niners defense, they played awesome. But Patrick was missing some throws to open guys that he normally hits. So you can't say it was 100% the defense slowing down the KC offense.

So the question is, what happens if they can get a KC defensive performance like this one mixed with an A-Level performance by the offense? It's scary stuff.

Late in 4th, Atlanta had a 99.7 percent chance of beating NE and the Niners had a 97 percent of beating the Chiefs. No other SB is close in blown leads. Guess who was play caller in both games?

Yeah, if your QB sucks so bad you do that shit they did at the end of the half, you run the ball there. Shanahan is brilliant at offensive schemes but in game coaching sucks. What a strange game.

Nah, I respect it. Rat JR respected and had the right idea. Knew they had to be aggressive and go for the kill shot against Pat Mahomes. The only thing he did wrong was pass on Pat in the draft.

It's squarely on Jimmy IMO. He sucks ass.

E: actually wait, Rat Jr was a moron for not calling a timeout before the final punt of the first half. That was dumb.

Jimmy G is already getting paid. We have one of if not the best cap guru in the NFL. Jimmy G has a team friendly deal. He’ll be making $26 million each of the next 3 years. On the bright side, moving on from Jimmy G is easy as his dead money hit reduced each of the next 3 years.

2020-save $22 million by moving on. Dead cap of $4 million
2021-save $24. Dead cap of $2
2022-save $25. Dead cap of $1

Basically he’s on three 1 year contracts. Easy for the team to move on.

Marines on the other hand, that dude is going to get PAAAIIIIDDDDD$$$$$$!$. Hopefully that doesn’t affect how they can build a team around him.

they'll extend, and the big money won't be due for two more years. There'll also be a new CBA agreement, so we'll see.

But we have two more shots at this before his big money starts.

We did it.

Not us, the fans did anything on the field.

Us, the fans here, didn't give up. We didn't walk away. We didn't quit on the thing we loved. Kick after kick in the nuts, we sucked it up, we pushed forward.

We believed. We persevered. We had no reason to believe other than blind faith and painful, PAINFUL, hope.

Do you think they move on from him? My thought was if y'all won this game, his agent starts demanding $40M per year on his next contract. And hell, you might win it next year in which case my theory is still true with his agent.

His clutch factor is off the charts for sure. People didn't realize this when he was in college because the team around him was a bunch of scrubs. He is getting a lot better help from the Chiefs team around him. Give him a little help (like the defense making huge plays) and he will come up with some clutch stuff when you really need it.

My guess is yes. I think we’ve seen that Jimmy G is what limits this offense. I’m sure Shanny sees that.

That 5 game stretch Jimmy G we saw in 2017 is long gone. We didn’t get to see him much in 2018. This 2019 Jimmy appears to me that he regressed. Next year will be his second year playing in Shanny offense so I’d expect a MAJOR improvement. If that doesn’t happen, I’m sure he’ll be gone.

Andy Reid -- Happy as hell for this guy. He is a better coach than a bunch of dudes who got rings through the years, including his former assistants Harbaugh & Pederson. Really glad Andy finally got the big one. Nobody has worked harder than him for the last 30 years in the league.

He has had a big impact on various franchises when you think about how many coaches he has influenced. I hope this isn't his only ring. He's better than that! Outside Belichick, there isn't a better coach in the last 20 years.

You guys are a good team. You should have won tonight. Having said that our struggles most of the game were Mahomes nerves As much as your D.

Making it through the playoffs and winning the SB requires so much luck in addition to having one of the best teams. We were the best team in the league last year and didn’t win it. Wouldn’t be surprised if we meet you guys in the SB a few more times this decade.

So this is a crazy little stat. Chiefs won all 3 playoff games by double digits after trailing by double digits. So you had at least a 20 point swing in all 3 games. That just does not happen at the NFL level very often, definitely not in 3 straight games for the same team. Wild!

I was surprised Kittle did not get the ball very often.

I wasn't.

The gameplan was clearly to neutralize Kittle and make the 49ers receivers beat us.

They got a couple catches but not nearly enough.

Spags BB'd Kittle...

According to ESPN Stats & Information research, with a 20-10 lead and 7:17 left to play, the 49ers had a 96.1% chance to win the game.

Sounds like the Royals of '14 & '15.

Never out of it.

my god the blocking on this run from Sherman and Pringle.

The 49ers had been on the field for 70 plays at this point and it showed

It's hard to believe they won. They were freakin dead with 7 minutes left. DEAD. That game was going exactly how Niners wanted, and then it completely flipped at the end. Wild stuff.

I just never stopped believing because that’s what this 2019 Chiefs team, at least in the postseason, did.

It’s like we should’ve always known we’d win, but it would have to be THAT way.

This was incredible to watch in this playoff run. Next season I vote for the scenario where they get a fast start and steamroll the shit out of every playoff opponent on the way to another Lombardi trophy. :D
