:cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss: :cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss: :cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss: :cuss::cuss::cuss::cuss: Actually, I don't think that's a bad pick. He's the #2 guy on my big board at this point, and the #1 guy doesn't fit our defense. I'm not crazy about picking two safeties, but a hole in your roster is a hole in your roster, and Jones is just a natural. Seriously, you guys are going to love this kid if he ends up in Kansas City. I still would have gone with the trenches, but this isn't a bad pick. |
I think Washington has 1st round value.

Nice pick OTW. I debated drafting Chad Jones with my 2nd round pick.
|
OTW, my top 3 were Thomas, Spikes & Jones. Good job grabbing the talent in front of you.

With the 52nd selection in the 2010 NFL draft the Pittsburgh Steelers select:
Amari Spievey CB Iowa They need corners pretty bad and it just so happens that a pretty good one is still on the board. I know I am a little Iowa biased but the more I researched how needs match up to value, this is IMHO a pretty good pick and should start by years end. Plus, his uniform will stay very similar and that adds additional value! ROFL I heavily considered Misi, Allen, a couple 5-tecs and Sapp here, but overall I think this is a good choice. PM sent, Hamas you are on the board. |
Someone's going to have to tell me why Misi is anything more than a midrounder.
I know he had a good Senior Bowl, but Christ. |
If KCs first three picks play out like that we will have died and gone to heaven!
Very well done OTWP!!! |
I think the Pats would go with Andre Roberts here.
Anybody seen this kid at the Combine and Senior Bowl? Talk about an out-of-nowhere prospect that just looks phenomenal. I don't know if this kid learned to run routes at The Citadel or something but he looks like a great prospect. |

The Patriots have been able to address need and value at every pick in this draft. This continues with the following selection.
This player, although not having as much experience as others in the 3-4, did play in a 3-4 package this season. He profiles excellently as a 3-4 rush linebacker. He's smooth in space and quick around the edge, although there are some lingering concerns about his knee. Still, to get him in the bottom third of this round is good value, especially considering that he's been mocked and projected as an early-mid 2nd. The New England Patriots select Ricky Sapp, DE/OLB, Clemson The Cincinnati Bengals are on the clock. |
There's one player that I desperately want to fall to the Vikes at this point. In accord with the teams in front of me, I give him a 33% chance to do so.

I was hoping Mecca would elaborate on why he didn't think Sapp would project very well to 3-4 rushbacker. He played standing up at Clemson and did very well. I think he's a lightning-fast rusher. |
At this point in the draft Sapp is a fine risk, but I think it's questionable if he can play standing, he is straight line speed fast yes.
But he is not overly fluid, his hips are a little stiff and his height plays into that. He also blew an ACL 2 years ago, so this is not a pick without risk. He does in some ways remind me a bit of Shawn Crable who NE also drafted, a tall athletic pass rusher who basically has never played. |
