I wonder what his problem is. He had to do/say/not say something really disrespectful for a coaching staff to just give up on him like that. Because his movement skills are elite.

I mean, Veach LOVES him some former 1st round picks - and it's a position of need - so if we're not in the mix, Toney really is an unsalvageable mess.

Sure, but there had to be conversations between he and the new staff that convinced them to move on.

He's too talented and the investment was too recent to just give up on him after some missed voluntary workouts.

Eh. He missed most of the Giants rookie off-season programs with various reasons and then didn't play a single snap in preseason for what Judge said was an 'unspecified' injury. New regime may see the writing on the wall with him and don't see the point in wasting time if he doesn't care to learn.
