Great way to start their seasom.

Already melting down and Josh Allen hasn't even thrown a pick yet.

Rainbarrel 04-25-2024 10:02 PM

Everybody who understands the NFL at even a USFL level, knows Allen is better than Mahomes. Josh doesn't need some fancy smancy first round WR to dominate

Buffalo fans are hoping Xavier Worthy turns out to be a quasi-bust like Mecole Hardman or a mega bust like John Ross. Kansas City fans are hoping Worthy turns into a better version of Hardman, potentially a similar player to DeSean Jackson or Tyreek Hill. Who knows? It's all a crapshoot, and time will tell. Lol

I actually like Coleman but the pick was absolutely strange.

If you look at what Buffalo needed they needed a vertical attacker to pull coverage downfield.

The top guy to do that would be Brian Thomas Jr but they didn't go get him.

So who is left that could fill that role?

Xavier Worthy actually would fit what the scheme needed. So would AD Mitchell.

But instead Buffalo trades down and then takes a potential possession 1 WR who needs time?

WTF are they doing over there.

staylor26 04-28-2024 03:10 PM

A lot of people believe Coleman's best bet is to become a big slot, but all the Bills have are guys that are best in the slot, including their TE and best weapon.

RunKC 04-28-2024 03:31 PM

I thought they’d take a WR or 2 to help their team but they took the slowest one that couldn’t separate.

It was a terrible draft. They’re definitely taking a step back, but the playoffs are always a strong possibility when you have a top level QB

Yeah, their offense is all about running the ball to protect McDermott's mediocre defense. So if you want to run Allen and play bully ball you need guys that can hurt you if teams load up to stop the run.

Coleman was a terrible pick from a scheme perspective and a NEED perspective.

I always thought of Coleman as a nice player for a team to grab in the 2nd that was young and building and could wait a year for him.

Remember that there were 6 QBs taken in the first 12 picks and that pushed many players down from where they might otherwise have been taken. That made for a fat bunch of talent available early, almost as if the teams had moved up in the draft.

Just because Buffalo didn't trade up, that doesn't mean they weren't trying. I'm sure they identified Thomas as the guy they wanted, but a lot of other teams did the same thing. Thomas went at #23 to the Jaguars and I'll bet they were very happy. I'll also bet that they were demanding a high price to make any trade, so it might just have been too much for the Bills to pay.

Basileus777 04-28-2024 04:26 PM

Bills have no skill players that are deep threats. Joe Brady might want to run a ball control offense, but defenses have little reason to sit back in deep zones and let it happen. Beane can talk about transition years, but his screw ups are the reason their cap was in such a bad shape.

Might not be good for Allen’s health.

When he takes off, he can expect more defenders around to stop him. That equals more hits.

It won’t be as easy to make it to the secondary with at full speed.

Seemed pretty odd for sure.

Though still not as bizarre as what ATL did in the draft. First Penix, when they already signed Cousins to a $100 million deal, without talking to Kirk first, then their biggest need was apparently DB, and they didn't take even one?

Sure were some strange things going on in this draft.

It’s what they did when Brady became coordinator. Run heavy offense and their offense was better.

Or, Coleman becomes an absolute star (I love his potential and would not have been too disappointed if we drafted him) and they can't exercise the 5th year option, and he either leaves or costs them a huge percentage of their cap.

The fact that they couldn't afford to pay a rookie salary, so they traded out of the first round should have consequences.

Chieftain 04-29-2024 07:55 AM

Bills are wasting away Allen's prime. Their team, as constructed, is nowhere near to a SB contender. They'd have to hit on the next couple of drafts to have a chance and make one last run while Allen is still elite. Aside from the Chiefs, they'll have to still compete against the Bengals, Texans and maybe Chargers. All teams with top 5 QBs. I don't see any hope. Sucks to be a Bills fan.

mr. tegu 04-29-2024 08:23 AM

The Bills take the AFC this seasom

Bills GM on Coleman.

"He's going to have a hard time starting at the beginning of the season, but we will see how it all shakes out."

They are going to roll out Shakir, Samuel, and Hollins as their three WR. That’s hilariously bad. And the fans seem to just be penciling in Shakir as a number 1 type receiver. Guess they didn’t learn from this place being way over the top on our WR last season.

Jerm 04-29-2024 08:25 AM

I couldn't believe they took Coleman...he's such a bad fit for that offense, what he's best at is exactly what they were trying to get Allen away from last year.

Good luck I guess.

Allen just isn't precise enough to throw those contested balls.

It's a horrible fit.

You put Coleman with a guy with pristine ball placement and you might see some solid production. But a guy with a big arm and accuracy that comes and goes on the short stuff is just murder for a dude like Coleman.

To say nothing of Staylor's point - he may have to be used like we used JuJu in 2022 to be effective and they already have Kinciad for that gig. And they displace Shakir is so doing.

It's just a bad pick, IMO.

Do you split them into 2 dynasties, or are they just one, 1990-present?

We could be talking a lot of shit right now to diqlix. I don't understand the point of banning him.

The Keon Coleman thread on Twobillsdrive is a fun one if you enjoy reveling in Bills' fans misery.

They are going to roll out Shakir, Samuel, and Hollins as their three WR. That’s hilariously bad. And the fans seem to just be penciling in Shakir as a number 1 type receiver. Guess they didn’t learn from this place being way over the top on our WR last season.

I think Shakir lines up to start as the #1 but the focal in this version of the Sean Payton offense is Kincaid.
