Did you watch Houston when he played at Georgia? I'm guessing no. Houston is a perfect fit at 3-4 OLB.

ZERO.

And you keep acting like that's such a big issue because we don't have a JJ Watt? The 3-4 DE position, even in a 1-gap, isn't that hard to fill. And it's very possible that some of our players can be coached differently to play 1-gap. The reason they don't play it today is because they are coached to read and react, versus attacking.

If your hangup is that we don't have 3-techniques to play 3-4 DE, that's pretty petty.

It's laughable.

He's been spending too much time with PFF.

He's a nerd. He sees all these + and - and thinks they're like strength bonuses in a role playing game.

Hey phil emery uses PFF :wayne:

Lets not get all up in arms until we know who the DC is gonna be.

Reid was best with Jim Johnson was running the D. Closest thing to that is a guy who IIRC learned under him in Rivera.

So, everyone hope tonight before bed that J. Richardson is having a bad day tomorrow.

Anyway, anyone with sources hearing anything tonight about coordinators?

He uses a lot more than that. You can't rely on just one source. The idea that you HAVE to have a JJ Watt to run a 1-gap 3-4 is just hilariously silly.

All the more reason switching schemes make no ****ing sense. You're basically advocating a switch to the Tampa 2.

I'd rather find 2 OLBs than 2 DL, that's basically the jist of it.

So you think Dj, Hali and Houston will be as good in a 43?

Way oversimplified. You're diminishing the value of your 3 best players on defense.

Well, 1-gap linemen are much easier to get in the later rounds than cover 2 OLBs and we NEED our 2nd round pick for the offense.

So while I respect your opinion I still say you are wrong.

Eh, they might be.

But we know what they are in a 34 set. I'm just so ****ing tired of a 2 gap system.

And if they do like they talked about and the Faid cut Seymour, I'd bring him in.

I don't really have a huge problem with the 4-3 if we maximize what we have. Leave Houston at OLB with a bigger DE in front of him, leave DJ in the middle, etc. Maybe we can do a hybrid this year and transition.

I'm just a firm believer that we need to use our 2nd and 3rd round picks on offensive playmakers. We need a utility WR and a TE if we are gonna go all in on a QB.

O.city 01-04-2013 10:18 PM

I'm just a big fan of the 34 like the Ravens, Texans, Steelers run.
